The point is whether someone, not knowing the perpetrators behind the act and their intentions might perceive it as a threat.
That "someone" being a "reasonable person" as you previously stated.
Anyone that has racially tinted glasses is not reasonable.
And therefore I conclude my argument by saying this law is based on the racist feelings of SJW.
I'll take my bow now.

An actual threat
If he put on note on the statue saying he was planning to lynch a black person, ok.
Gesture is as good as words. There's a clear, threatening gesture here. This is so obvious.

A noose around a neck is a threatening gesture. Anytime people do this stuff should be a crime.

You do realize the victim was a fricking piece of metal?

The "victims" were all of those people that just knew there was a murderous gang of racists about to go on a lynching spree.
And that's all you need to lock someone up.

Those guys are trash who represent the national stereotype of Ole Miss students.
But they shouldn't be punished for this.

Hey, bruh, reasonable people have to be protected from symbols and shite.

You're a simple man. We get it.
The idea that this should not be construed as a threat is laughable. Do you think the little count did it for any other reason than to offend/threaten black people?
Maybe his dad should be punished.

My favorite part about this story is one group said it would cost several thousand $$ to repair the statue.

For sure. It lacks the imminence and specificity to be worthy of prosecution IMHO.
Then why go through the bullshite mattz routine? Seems like a waste of time strawman.

Oh, look, a butthurt bitch randomly mentioning my name simply because he didn't have his feelings and beliefs reaffirmed on the OT
Posted on 7/22/16 at 9:20 pm to mattz1122
The driveby "ALL CAPS WITH GRAMMER ERRORS REDNECK STRAWMAN AIMED AT CONSERVATISM" bit has run its course mate.

You blowing stout or something?
Either way, 2-0 for me vs. dumb rednecks.

No. It's just silly. I don't think one should get thrown in jail, or face criminal repercussions, merely for being an a-hole. Apparently neither does the guy I was responding to. Not sure why he manned the post he did. Lampooning the OT like that, for the sake of, isn't original or funny.

Isn't that exactly what I said?

Not sure. I wasn't talking to you. Didn't even realize you were in this thread.

You can burn the American flag in the name of free speech but can't put a noose around a statue, think about that.
Posted on 7/22/16 at 9:32 pm to Lou Pai
And yet you mentioned my name?
