Bought the wife an explorer in october. Yesterday, she calls and has me listen to a beeping tone coming out the speakers.

The explorer has the touch screen, and like an impatient woman, she was using the navigation and it wasn't moving fast enough, so she kept "clicking the arrow." Then the noise started

Got home, turned car on and off, drove it around the block, noise stopped, but now the warning pops on and off on the screen saying some things have been disabled while driving.

I'm thinking it's some kind of update that's needed or a fuse that may have blown. Just wondering if anyone with a newer explorer has had this issue?

Surely it's under full warranty...just take it to the dealership.

theres your problem

what were you trying to do when it said disabled while driving?

there are a bunch of things you can't do while you are driving, mostly typing and changing some settings

I was just driving around the block. Not doing anything. I'll send you a video I took.

It doesn't click anymore when we pick a station, change screens, etc

What does the warning say? She probably just hit a button and turned something off or on. Google the warning.

you can do a hard reset on sync by disconnecting the battery for half an hour

i once did that to fix a problem on my truck.....you may lose some of your presets or other settings, but i'd do that before taking it to the dealer, because thats probably the first thing theyre gonna try

It is an update. Take it to your dealer and they will update your firmware.

I checked on syncmyride from my phone and it says it's up to date. I was going to try and redownload the latest and reinstall

Why did you guys decide the Explorer over the Edge?

We are about to buy one, and I am thinking Edge.

We had a rental explorer and love the features inside, but it's so long and really have issues with any visibility in the back corners.

We only have one baby too so don't need all the room the explorer offers.

Have a Fusion with same sync system but they usually give you a visual to go with the sound. Is there a visual warning? What's it say?

Room

Ww have two kids and wanted the third row. And wife already had a crossover type suv with only one back seat and she was set on having a third row "to go places with more people"

We don't go anywhere....ever

Wrong. Anyone that thinks Ford doesn't make good vehicles is just plain stupid and uninformed.

Depends. You can create an account with syncmyride.com. This would save you a trip to the dealership.

Sync My Ride

You will need your VIN to set it up. Once you do that, your vehicle can email or text you with information about the vehicle.

It's not really a warning tone. It's the tone that is made when you pick a station, change temp, etc. It's just over and over. Even when the car was off.

But that's stopped. I'll try to upload the video to youtube, but from what it sounds like, it's a firmware issue
