There is a reason they stopped making them.

Plastic. Looks and functions great at first. And then time passes.

I've never really looked at one.

What advantage does it have over a standard full size Silverado?

Looks like you would have a little less bed room and the blind spots would be a little larger.

It's the El Camino of our day.

Get the wood panels.

Love mine. Not as big as you'd think on the interior though. Fords and toyotas cabs make it seem very small.

I don't know anything about the 2013 but it is a great truck overall. I love mine. I have used the midgate transformation countless times. It is awesome. The bed cover panels are great too. Weatherproof and the bed can be locked up. It is the perfect vehicle for football tailgates. I have an 04 with 160k miles and it is running great. My Dad put 200k+ on his 02 before he got rid of it..

ETA: After reading the thread, I saw some typical responses. Some people don't like how they look, and that's fine. But you would be hard pressed to find someone who has owned one and been like "nah, that wasn't a good vehicle."

They're OK. Seats are excellent, no rear seat legroom, interior bits fail rapidly, door handles come apart after 2-3 years, power lock actuators fail prematurely, front hubs fail at 70K.

Idk if you can get em with the 6.2, but if you can, get it.

I've had two Avalanches, each since they were new. Both were 5.3L with 2WD.

An '05 that I put 160k on in 3.5 years without a hiccup
An '08 that I put almost 210k in 5 years without a hiccup

Very versatile and well-built vehicles. I looked at '13 Avalanches but decided to go Jeep Grand Cherokee for my daily driver and have been very happy with it.
