However, like the 914, it´s not much of a Porsche.
Drive a well kept 914 2.0 on a twisty road and just try to wipe the smile off. For a 45 year old car it's a lot of fun. 914's came from the era when Big American Muscle that couldn't turn in a parking lot without tipping. Put it on a twisty track against a Mullet and the 914 more than held its own. As did other similar vehicles of its age like the 240Z. They've become Cult like cars now with the well kept ones very sought after.
As for the Boxster, the new design is very nice. Have a friend, works for Porsche, that has driven it several times. His words were that unless you went much much further upmarket you wouldn't find an equal that was as well sorted.
