Two more Louisianans arrested during protests that followed the death of Alton Sterling are suing law enforcement agencies in a Baton Rouge federal court, alleging they were the victims of unlawful arrest and excessive force.

quote:

Both Max Geller and Brandon Erp filed lawsuits May 19 seeking unspecified damages for various injuries they claim they sustained at the hands of state and local police officers and deputies July 9-10.

quote:

Geller—a New Orleans man whose arrest was widely covered by local media—alleges he was “brutally tackled and beaten” by Louisiana State Police at the intersection of East Boulevard and France Street while he was video recording the protests with his cell phone. In his lawsuit, he alleges the officers slammed his head into the ground, kicked him and also struck him in the head with “a rifle butt or other blunt object.” He claims he lost consciousness, and suffered cuts and abrasions to his face and head as well as injuries to his ribs, arms and shoulders. Geller also says he has since been diagnosed with lateral epicondylitis, or scar tissue forming around his elbow tendons, which “may require future medical treatment.”

quote:

Erp—a Baton Rouge resident—alleges he was tackled by a police officer and surrounded by officers with rifles pointed at him while he was protesting at Airline Highway and Goodwood Avenue. His lawsuit claims he suffered multiple cuts, bruised ribs and contusions to his chest. Erp was one of the original four named plaintiffs in a federal class-action lawsuit led by Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson, but according to a recent memorandum on the progress of the case, he had an outstanding warrant at the time and therefore is no longer a member of the identified class.

BR Business Report

Let's us not forget that over 90 activists are awaiting payment from the city of Baton Rouge for their arrests during the Alton Sterling protests last summer.

These two people are seeking more.

Nevertheless, it truly does pay to protest in Baton Rouge.

It's news that impacts the Baton Rouge community. I have a connection to Baton Rouge, so it impacts me directly and indirectly. And there are many others that have followed and participated in previous threads concerning Alton Sterling, Mayor Broome and the Baton Rouge City Police Department.

If you don't like the topic(s) that I post on here, you are more than welcome to click on another thread. No one is forcing you to respond to any of my threads or posts.

Best tackle of the whole thing was the black cop who laid out to tackle the big 6 ft 5 white guy who looked like he was from Cali.

They both got a crick in their back and neck. And they feel a little dizzy.

Of course. The vast majority of these protesters are not upstanding, self-sufficient citizens. They would love nothing better than a quick buck from a lawsuit.

Blah blah blah. It's not like it's getting better. You're beating a dead horse and you know it. Ever heard of delusion?

This was just published in the Baton Rouge Business Report. I didn't create the article. I didn't seek out information or people to speak with and then put into an article. I simply posted exerts from the article and linked it on here for discussion.

If you have a beef, take it up with the Baton Rouge Business Report, Chris Nakamoto, Scottie Hunter or The Hayride.

The Integris Safe Containment Work Platform is an ingenious structure designed to both protect workers and to reduce the carbon footprint of operations.

I say, give them their day in court and pay them if the cops acted out of bounds.

I do not think there were abuses during those protest, from what I saw it appeared the officers were in control. But, if some were not and decided to act outside of the law they should be held accountable.

Law and order needs to apply to us all, including the police.

lateral epicondylitis

Tennis elbow? Putting that in a list of injuries should remove all credibility from the complaint.

As I recall, this bitch took his skanky GF down with him in order to avoid being cuffed.
