2 BR cops shot, rushed to the hospital

The shooting happened just before 6 a.m. on Fairfields Avenue at Scenic Hwy., which is just east of I-110. The officers were taken to the hospital before EMS could arrive on the scene. Officials say the officers were responding to a damage to property, that is where a vehicle chase began. The chase ended at Fairfields Ave. at Scenic Highway. The driver involved in the chase got out of the vehicle with a weapon and shot at the officers multiple times and ran inside a house. The officers returned gunfire. There is no word on the status of the suspect at this time. The officers have not been identified. WAFB has a crew on the scene and will bring you the latest as it becomes available.

BATON ROUGE - Police in Baton Rouge confirm they are investigating an attempted murder-suicide.
The shooting happened around 7 p.m. Friday night in the 1600 block of Woodale Court, near Airline Highway. It's unclear at the time of this post if the gunman or victim is deceased. The other was transported to teh hospital with serious injuries.
A News 2 crew is on scene. We'll have more details tonight at 10 PM.

Hard to believe one suspect shot both of them. That's pretty solid shooting given the assumed circumstances.
