That's the only way to avoid a speeding ticket there.

I just went through it. The traffic at the Livonia light is backed up back into the Morganza spillway. It takes 45 minutes to get through that light, then it's clear to the next light and you wait 20 minutes to get through that one. And then it's slow, but moving onto I-10. But, par usual, the effing bridge is slow moving.
Probably could save a little time hooking a right at that LIvonia light and taking that winding road to Gross Tete (which is what I did last night when I was going to Lafayette and they turned us around at Whiskey bay after sitting for hours on I-10. I didn't use the Livonia road this morning because I wasn't sure the state police hadn't blocked I-10 West at Gross Tete to free it for emergency vehicles or whatever and my I Phone was out of Juice.
To sum: Ascension to Lafayette - 9.5 hours last night.
Lafayette to Ascension - 3 hours this morning.

Is there anywhere reporting the ETA on getting East Bound open?
Posted on 5/3/14 at 1:41 pm to Overbrook
Can I turn right at krotz springs and go through sherburne to i10?
In other words Is i10 east open at maringouin?

Will stop for boudin and keep listening to the game. Looks like extras again.

When I got on I10 at Port Allen, there was traffic coming from the West, so I assume that I-10 East is open after the bridge. I would hook that right at the Livonia light - save you 20-30 minutes. Of course, if it isn't open I guess you have to go back to 190, unless you know all the back roads. (which is why I didn't hook that right).

It is open at maringouin. Turn right after the bridge at Krotz springs. Put dust masks on and drive south half hour on 975. Get up on 10 east.
Wow I am 10 east in the middle of the day into Baton Rouge and there is no traffic. So awesome.

According to google maps traffic opens up a bit after the bridge

Stuck in krotz springs now too. Might have made it 5 miles in the last hour. May hang a right after the bridge and try that.
Eta: skidry that worked then?

Stopped for boudin and a beer now me and the boy are back in traffic on the elevated bridge east of Krotz Springs. A few minutes ago I saw an ambulance going east on the west bound side.
