for his mental state.

Justin Fawcett said his nephew, McCann, had suffered a traumatic brain injury from a concussion he got while playing basketball several years ago. He said McCann was unable to go to school and that his sister took him on doctors appointments “regularly.”

Justin said it, “…was like a switch flipped on him,” and that he’d become concerned because the teen had been acting peculiar lately.

CONCUSSIONS DO NOT DO THIS TO PEOPLE. DRUGS, STEROIDS, AND CONCUSSIONS DO THIS TO PEOPLE. This cat was already looney pre concussion guarantee.

I had a pretty bad concussion several years ago, with a pretty healthy drinking habit now to go with a quite stressful job. Although I am quite forgetful, I have yet to develope homicidal tendencies.

Concussion did not murder anyone, the 19 yo murdered.

What about video games and metal music? Perhaps marijuana?

It's NEVER your fault.

Blame someone or something else.

Profit.

ditto. I've not killed. I've gotten angry at people.

It's the passive ones I'm afraid of. The mumblers... they fricking suck.

There was an ex-fireman who killed a Waffle House waitress in Biloxi after she told him to extinguish his cigarette. Family made comments about him not being the same since being involved in a hit-and-run accident. I predict they'll use a similar traumatic brain injury defense as things move to trial in the coming months.

It wasn't the concussion. The effects of a mild TBI typically resolve within 30 days. Some factors have been shown to result in prolonged postconcussive systems. These include depression, anxiety, and of course, litigation.

Two serious concussions playing football. Played on autopilot both times for like a half hour. Played it from age 6 to age 21.

Fully murderless.

There actually some decent amount of studies on TBI and their effects on the brain and personalities afterwards.

Not saying the kid wasn't totally loony tunes beforehand, but there are documented cases of people with severe TBIs that have an altered personality afterwards.

The medical community is really just beginning to figure some shite out about TBIs and their effects on the brain.

Nah man, posters in this thread have had concussions and clearly people are like robots and every concussion has the exact same effect on us, so you're just wrong.

That's the MSB logic!!!

This happened down the road from my job, and we were involved in the aftermath... Today our EAP came out to talk to employees. Crazy situation, sad one.
