Incredible. Hate to see it. I love that bridge. The crossed revolver design is frickign sick.

shitty part about it is Im the one who is going to have to repair the railing damage. I take care of all welding on that bridge

There's a good 20-30 feet missing, I passed right after it happened

Very sorry to hear about both your gainful employment and opportunity for income in an in-demand, skilled trade. That does sound like the raw end compared to tipping your big rig over the side of a rail and plummeting 20-30 feet before said big rig hits the ground and catches on fire.

Well put.

How does one's vehicle fall off a bridge?
Posted on 5/1/15 at 6:29 am to Janky
Wind, fatigue on a long hall, inexperience hauling coupled with a rail that's the perfect height for toppling a semi with a trailer. Basically any reason to go off the road. It's just that in this instance, the road was a bridge and the vehicle flipped over the rail (and seems to have taken some with it, tragically).

Odd thing is:
Just down the road from where I live in N. Alabama a big rig ran off a smaller bridge a few hours earlier (the smoke plume was HUGE...I knew it was a petroleum type fire). Turns out the driver was a fatality..and the truck was carrying boxed oil.
Weird how things happen like that. That road is still half closed...ALDOT having to inspect this bridge to make sure no structural damage due to the heat of the fire/collision. But this bridge goes over a small river (akin to a bayou back home).

It's such a steep bridge.
I would hate to fall off at any part.

Goodness.
I have been over that bridge more than a few times but that pic....
Makes you wonder how in the world that is an interstate grade bridge
