Hopefully he'll go for a couple more degrees so he can go to football games? LINK

LSU is watered down. Not impressed.

Obviously impressive. But serious question: if you are smart enough to graduate at 16, clearly you're smart enough to go to a place like Harvard/Yale/MIT. So why go to LSU?

The college of engineering is anything but watered down. Some of the most brutal teachers you'll ever come across.

Oh right, this is the OT. I forgot. Everyone can afford 50K for undergrad.

What 13 year old wants to go that far away from home? There are always graduate degrees for kids like that, but no way I'd travel across the country as a 13 year old for college...

My guess would be it's difficult for a 13 year old to move 1500 miles away from your family to go live in a college dorm. An it would be really irresponsible of his parents to allow that to happen.
He can always go there for his grad work.

Yeah I'm sure a kid with the ability to get a college degree at 16 wouldn't be able to get a scholarship.

Why not wait, then? What the frick is the rush?

There are families that will take in students like this. And if I were that kids parents I would move wherever he was going and wait until payday

If you've learned all of high school by 13 (he was homeschooled) do you expect him to continue to learn high school stuff? No.

I'm not gonna go back and forth with you. You're clearly too ignorant.

So why go to LSU?

Actually if you make it into those schools (Harvard I know of for sure) and prove you can't pay for it; they'll get the rest taken care of for you. I'm assuming even more so for a prodigy type of student like this.

I believe you are right. And I think over 90% of the students are on some sort of scholarship as well. When you have the second largest endowment of any private organization in the world, you can do things like that.
Fun fact: Harvard is second only to the Roman Catholic Church.
