definitely know him from back in the day. Used to hang in the same circle. He used to date one of my gfs. Last I heard he was living in FL-but that was years ago....Most of us grew up, got married, had chirren and stuff. Some of em never grew up I guess. He was always a nice guy-not really a douche or anything.
so damn sad for that family :(

My wife does more eye surgeries for kids who get in 4 wheeler and atv wrecks than BB guns.

no one should go to jail for this. Its a horrible accident... one lost his life, and ankther has to live with it. Accidents happen, jailtime will not bring him back or help anyone. I also hate reading where people will not allow their kids to have an atv or be on one. I had some great times on an atv as a kid. Its just like anything else, teach them to be safe. But even still accidents can happen, just like when they begin driving a cad or truck at 16, accidents can happen. Just have to teach them responsible riding practices.

I wasn't there. But I've been to that party numerous times. It is an annual family affair. I grew up with the Tharpes. That party is regularly attended by local politicians, law enforcement, and other community leaders. It is not a wild drunk fest. It goes all Day and into the night, there are bands hired, it is catered, and everyone brings their kids and has a good time.
i don't doubt at all that this was just a complete accident and he was acting in a way that any of us might had we been at the party and the young man wanted to ride along

I'm sure there are people that have been arrested 4 times and became pretty decent people too

Because what I do know is that he's an immature, shallow 36-year-old. I know he's been arrested 3 times within the last 3 1/2 years. I know his actions resulted in the death of a 12-year-old.
Just to add a different perspective... if he was black with that background, this board would be going off on him like there's no tomorrow.
