I could honestly see Rex Ryan going for it.

You may be able to get a situational pass rusher from a team, especially if they're deep at the position.

McCown has looked surprisingly good. I wouldn't trade him unless the Saints got good value and we had someone else in mind for the backup role (that's not a rookie).

Watching from the stands, it was obvious that he knows the offense and knows it well.

Seeing him run the 1st team O with confidence and precision was very nice.

No one is trading a pass rusher for him

What are you thinking, chip in on a nice clipboard? My buddy has a cousin that paints or some shite, we could make it really nice. If anyone can cut a good size helmet profile out of plywood, I could probably make a pretty nice yard sign for him. Let me know; I'll contribute.

Didn't some guy start a thread this week saying OP was one of the most knowledgeable posters on Saints Talk?

Nobody would give you better than a fourth pick for a QB who has been in the league and isn't that good. Peyton has his confidence up and he is running our system perfectly. We have a defense full of first and second round picks. Most were busts based on their draft position. With the shitty OL we have unfortunately we will probably need him this year. Drew has been very lucky based on the shots he takes.

What makes you think our o-line is shitty?

The Lions just recently traded one of their backup qb's (Thaddeus Lewis) for a veteran linebacker (Chris White) from the Bills.

Is that so damn crazy? I never suggested we'd get a starter from another team, just a backup that could give us depth at olb.

White is a special teams player who has like 15 career tackles. No one is giving up anything more than a special teamer for a QB who has only performed well in preseason.

And you would be lucky to get that for a 10 year vet with a 68.5 career QB rating.

Casillas was a special teams player as well, but he rotated in as a blitzer.

McCown performed well against Houston's starting defense, including some nice deep balls and short back shoulder throws.

Look, the thread title is "You think we could" and not "Damn we should." Come to think of it though, McCown is Hartley's holder, and Hartley's been perfect so far, so there's not a damn chance this trade happens anyway.

Backup QB is more important than a Casillas, especially when the next guy is an undrafted free agent. This team has enough Casillas's.

He also bounced around the league since 2004. One preseason game isn't going to add enough value to get anyone that would even make the team at linebacker.
