Would you guys be pissed if Brees did what Cam did after the fumble?

QBs should know they need to avoid getting hit or you can end up screwing the team unintentionally like Dalton did.

If Brees did that on the biggest stage, last game of the season, would you think differently of him?

Yes.

You can't pull that weak shite in the big game.

if he did? Yeah I'd probably flip out for a few minutes but at the same time I seriously doubt he'd ever dog it like that.

it wouldn't change my opinion of him.

He's the best Saints player ever and I'm pretty afraid of how things will be when he's gone.

If Brees was trying to protect an injury, I can maybe understand it. That said, I can't imagine Brees bailing like that. As someone stated before, he's a guy that nearly ended his career by diving into a pile during an end of season game with no playoff implications.

Well he wouldn't, so it's kind of irrelevant. He's actually gotten hurt a couple times diving for loose balls and he's not 6'6 250 and 26 years old.

Give me a gamer like that any day

Brees wouldn't do that so the question is moot

It's the Super Bowl. If the other team gets the football you lose. If you or your team gets it, you can punt and your awesome defense is giving you another chance. You dive for the damn ball.

Remember how Drew injured his shoulder in the first place. By diving on a ball he fumbled. It cost him his job in SD and led to him winning a Super Bowl in NOLA.

I forget. Did Drew suffer his injury in the Super Bowl with the game on the line?

No and I think that's the point he's making. This isn't even a debate because we know Brees WOULD do whatever to win

I misread what he said. I thought he was justifying what Cam did so he would not get injured.

No, only because of the angle.

any QB that had taken that kind of a beating in any game up that point have the right to make the best decision to not subject himself to being foolishly hurt going after a fumble. Cam had injured his shoulder after the long pass to Ward who left the game with a concussion. I believe Cam got up and favored his shoulder after being hit after throwing the ball. Now if you really want to discuss anything then you should start a discussion about the weak play at right tackle for Carolina and compare it the Saints right tackle that have given up sacks that has lead to Drew getting banged up in a game.

Foolishly hurt? That was to win the Superbowl dude. That's not foolish.

Cam is a selfish piece of shite and not at all a team player. You bust your arse to win the big game. Whatever it takes. He doesn't have the drive to do that.

I'm so glad Cam being a self absorbed dick led to them losing.

Apples and Oranges to me. Cam is a physical freak running QB who routinely lays the hammer on defenders. Brees is a finesse pocket passer. If Brees has the physical build and style as Newton, damn right I'm pissed.

I hate the panthers, but wanted to jump through my tv when I saw that.

Chickenshit.

Panthers fans should be pissed. If he dives on it, they end up punting to the other side of the field. Manning was doing awful and that would have left you down 6 with 4 mins to go and all your timeouts. Against Manning, who is running the ball on 3rd and 8 the previous possession.

If he dives on it, Carolina is very much in that game.

I've never seen anything quite like that. That was ridiculous.

How dare you even besmirch the name of Brees by suggesting that shite?!

See my thread on the MSB. All you need to know.

I wouldn't be pissed. I've seen him dive after the ball with nothing important on the line. I've seen him play through injuries that would sideline many players, even in "meaningless" games.

If Brees did that in the SuperBowl I would chalk it up to confusion or something. But not cowardice or lack of desire to win.

Cam doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me because that's what I expect from him. If he's winning and playing well he'll run through a wall for a TD. If he's losing and getting beat up he pouts and loses interest. I think it's a defense mechanism to hide some serious insecurities.

I could be wrong but didn't Brees dive for a lose ball late in the season in a meaningless game? I am pretty sure he did because I remember saying to my brother, damn that could have turned out bad the way he dove in there.
