Ohhhhhhh shite.

Not that I'm happy to hear he was injured. But man, that gives me some optimism if he gets a full healthy offseason. This is the first time we've been healthy as ever.

Really dude? Neither guy said anything negative in the least. In fact it seems positive.

Don't see how that is trashy.

Would anyone really draft him before Eric Reid?

Yeah. Seriously, what did Reid do in his second year?

Aside from all of Reid's numbers going down? He isn't playing pro bowl level that's for sure.

If Vaccaro can return to form his upside is much higher.

Having Collins would have been nice though.

Just in case it wasn't clear, this was kind of my point.

PFF has Reid ranked 52nd and Vaccaro 86th out of 88 safeties.

Reid's forced more turnovers, is better at playing deep (which means we wouldn't have blown all our $$ on Byrd), and wasn't the last line of defense for one of the worst defenses in the league (the 49ers were actually about as good as they've always been under Harbaugh despite the inner turmoil).

The only concern with Reid is that he's suffered 3 concussions in 2 years. Unless you're wearing black and gold colored glasses, I'm not sure how anyone can say not only would Vaccaro go top 10 in this re-draft, he'd still go higher than Reid.

Pretty sure the guys that wrote the article are not Saints fans. Also, PFF is a good tool, but not the metric for judging overall performance. Not only that, but you and I have no idea what Vaccaro (or Reid for that matter) was asked to do. He may have very well been doing his job just fine. But its ok, Reid can go top 10 instead of Vaccaro in their fake redraft that means nothing.

This had nothing to do with Vaccaro. He doesn't play Free Safety, while Reid does.

Maybe. But if we are looking at stats, Vaccaro had 2 picks playing SS while Reid had 3. Vaccaro also had 74 tackles to Reid's 41. Now, I get Vaccaro plays closer up more than Reid, but if we are going by stats for guys playing different positions, we may as well go all the way.

In regards to the ESPN redraft- I like Vaccaro, but I don't know that I would take him over Hopkins.

Don't get me wrong, I like PFF as a tool or reference. But it is not the only thing to take into account when judging performance. I like to look at PFF, straight stats, and a little common sense.

Lets not consider what we use Vaccaro for vs. what they use Reid for.

Or the fact that the front 7 and DBs are totally different caliber between our teams last year.
