Signing Peterson may be prelude to moving up to get Fournette maybe 4th pick from Jacksonville or 6th with Jets. This would keep Fournette away from Carolina, give Saints future greatness while he learns from a Hall of Famer. May have to throw in a lower round pick to make it work.

It's too bad Leonard Fournette doesn't play on defense, or else I would totally agree with this thread.

We need defense!

So trade a proven NFL starting running back, one of the most productive ball carriers per touch last season, and the 11th pick in the draft to move up 5 spots and draft an unproven running back.

Is there an underlying motivation for a move like this?

The worst thing about this board are the LSU fans that know nothing about the NFL.

Nothing to do with being LSU player. Probably once in a decade running back. Did you guys forget Ingram's hissy fit on the sidelines last year. Bet Sean Payton has not forgotten. .

I know they need defense , but they will need it even more if Fournette lands in Carolina or Tampa Bay. Scoff i fyou will, but there is logic to my point . Fournette also gives them a stronger ball control which keeps the defense off the field, in essence playing defense with the offense. Belicheck like genius.

Fournette will have a similar NFL career to Trent Richardson.
