Would anyone else rather see Grayson over McCown?

If Drew isn't able to go, and sitting at 0-2, would anyone else rather see if Grayson has starter potential? For a 3rd round draft pick, I think I'd just rather see what he could do. Let McCown stick to his Verizon commercials.

It doesn't really matter. We're screwed either way if Brees doesn't play. Hell, lately, we can't even win with Brees.

I guess I'd rather see Grayson, but there is such thing as playing a QB too early and ruining his confidence. If Brees goes down then we're getting a top 3 pick.

What purpose would it make to have the young man take a beating behind this offense line? Do some people not realize how good Carolina is defensively?

A better question is does anyone want to actually see McCown

Verizon has crowned McCown the poster boy for NFL backup qbs. I don't think Payton really has a choice now.

I sure a hell don't, but I'd rather McCown take the beating than Grayson. Lelito & Evans are going to get any QB killed.

Yes. Protect your investment for the future. McCown is a nobody at this point. Let him be the crash test dummy if Brees can't go.

No McCown definitely gives us a better chance to win.

If the Saints somehow win this game they'd have a pulse. I wouldn't start Grayson until I had lost to both the Panthers and Falcons and was 4 or more games out.

As an LSU fan, I hate this saying, but I suppose there is some truth to it

NO!!!!

It is folly to throw a rookie QB that isn't ready behind a shoddy O-Line with subpar WRs. Do you want to ruin his career? The only way you put Grayson on the field is if he has the proper supporting cast to allow him to grow, succeed and not destroy his psyche/confidence.

Probably not this week, on the road and only having one week of some of the first team reps (assuming they aren't giving them all to McCown). But if Drew would have ended up going to IR, then I would say start McCown for 2-3 games while really prepping Grayson during practice then after a few weeks of 1st team reps I would have started him at a home game
