Now its time to get serious now that the draft is over. I feel like a lot of the teams that could have been interested in Sharper signed a Safety in the draft. I'm still worried about the Cowboys and Jets though.

I've been aggravated with Sharper's demands but I still think he makes our team a better football team. Especially for the next 2 seasons. We can work in a guy like Jenkins back there more over the next year or two to allow him to develop at the position and keep Sharper fresher.

Also having Sharper back, it solidifies our ENTIRE secondary IMHO. We would not have one glaring hole at cb, fs, ss, backups at any spot what so ever. We haven't been able to say that in quite some time.

If he wants to win again, he'll stay.

To be fair, other teams involved in his services aren't exactly teams in the dumps.

It really depends how far away his demands are from what Loomis is offering.

Loomis and Payton obviously feel that he's worth a certain amount and no more so, if he thinks he can get it from the Cowboys, Jets, or Eagles instead, they'll let him walk.

He'd probably fit in with the Jets this season considering they're signing every name FA who isn't nailed down.

I think he sees the Jets as the best chance for another title, as ridiculous as that sounds. Plus, they didn't draft anyone for that position.

The Boys have already stated that Owusu-Ansah will play FS. Hopefully that would turn them off with Sharp.

I have also been agravated, but also think he needs to be on this team next year. With him back, the Saints WILL have the best secondary in the league, with the addition of Pat Robinson.

that's aggrevating you?

sounds like pro sports to me.

Looks like Sharper will be playing somewhere else next season IMO. The longer it drags on the easier it is to forget the good feelings he had towards the Saints and sign with someone else even if money is similar.

Yeah a little bit. The Saints have shown more confidence in him than any other team last season and is still showing him love this year just not the amount of love he wants.

When the Saints just helped this dude win his first super bowl ring, you'd think he might show a little bit of favoritism and getting the deal done despite it's not every penny you want.

I think its gives the Saints some leverage in negotiations. I think he will end up tempering his demands and sticking with the Saints.

Yeah, but showing the Jets present history of signing veteran FA's... i think the Jet's are going to go after him when they are allowed to. They have to wait until june or july or some shite with the rules now with the final 8 teams or whatever and they just signed taylor. So Sharper may wait and see what that offer is.

Saints trying to be like the Pats when it comes to dealing with vet free agents.I like it,the guy is obviously at the tail end of his career.Pay him what you got budgeted or let him walk, and win without him.

According to LaCanfora on the NFL-N over the weekend, if Sharper plays this year, it will be with the Saints. The Saints, along with the rest of the league, are waiting for his rehab to be finished before he can sign anywhere. The Saints are familiar with him and know what he can do when healthy, so they have the luxury to wait.

It's really nothing more than that. All of the fans who think that it's a holdout or one side disrespecting the other are talking out of their arse and have a chicken little mindset.

I disagree. The jets are interested. Period. They can't sign him cause they prioritized Jason Taylor first as their FA they could sign. After a date in the summer, the Jets will be able to sign Sharper if they choose so.

Which is fine because by then, i would think he'd be able to. But I don't think its that easy of the saints are the only player for Sharper.
