Forgive the inflammatory title. Try and be objective and hear what im saying. This actually could apply to life in general.

"HOW COULD WE PASS UP ON ______!!!"
"WE frickED UP CAUSE WE DIDN'T DRAFT _____!!!"
"I'd be happy with ____, or ______"

All of these are signs of some horribly, flawed and doomed thinking.

There were roughly 3500 draft eligible players. Probably around 400 guys who think they have a chance at being drafted. The Saints evaluated these players. They don't care about your preferences. In fact, the chances that you pick 3 players out of 3500, and the Saints also prefer those 3 players is so fricking minuscule, that ANYONE who gets mad when a 3/3500 thing doesn't happen...and i mean this in the nicest possible way.....has some sort of brain defect.

Just watch the draft. Enjoy the show. Get excited that new guys are on the squad. There are skill-sets on the team now that weren't there 2 days ago. Thats cool.

But to set yourself up to where its almost a statistical certainty that you will be irrationally angry....I just don't get it. Chill ma'babies.

Everyone evaluates players and forms their own opinions of them. Is it that much of a travesty that not everyone agrees with some of their favorite team's picks?

No its not a travesty. But if i got up and said "Im going to be PISSED, if the first person i see today is not wearing a purple shirt" that would be irrational, and a bad way to go through life. Yes, people can have preferences, but the reaction that people have on here about stuff that should be expected, alludes to deeper issues that i would almost guarantee manifest themselves in other ways in life.

based on some of these posts you would swear we ran a 5-2 front or even a wide tackle six front which is a 6-2 , 8 man front. we only have so much room for starters and starter money on the DL. we couldn't have reed on the bench paying top money with rankins and NF already in.

had every opportunity to load up on the big guys.
Happy with Rankins in the first, should have taken Reed in the 2nd, and then stayed put and taken guards in the 3rd and 4th. Then go after the little guys late in the draft, free agency, and UDFA's.

You win in the trenches. plus skill players are always sketchy no matter where you draft them.

i agree you win in the trenches but see my post above. we don't run a facking 5-2 or wide tackle six ok? we run a 4-3 base. DWI.

I get what you're saying. I'm not one of those guys that only wants one player. There's players I like and players I don't like. Rankins and Bell weren't guys that were high on my list. I evaluate based on traits, not production. I love Michael Thomas though.

Mainly what im saying, is if you have the opportunity to be upset or not upset, be not upset. Its a better thing for sure.

Rankins and Reed can play anywhere along the line and are better by far than what we have. If you don't think adding two 1st round talents to the weakest position group on the weakest defense in the league. DWI. See my post above.

I agree. The other perplexing thing is that the draft is a crapshoot. Even the world's best experts are regularly wrong about how players will pan out. Yet we have people who post on this very site who are so confident in their opinions that they actually get mad about their team making a decision that differs from what they couldn't possibly know as a fact. You can also probably add in a good mix of trolls to that mindset too though.

You're some guy sitting on his couch who probably thinks that that highlight tape on YouTube equates to watching film. You evaluate on bull shite.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. That's being a fan. None of us are really experts. We just like following it and shooting the shite. But God damn have some self awareness.

Exactly... It takes time to evaluate draft classes... We should just now start getting mad about 2012.

I prefer the wait and see approach as well
