Why not Charles Harris?

I see a lot of love for Solomon, Barnett, and Taco but none for Harris. He had an off year in 2016 due to a coordinator change but had been pretty damn dominant in 2015. He's probably quicker off the snap and has better technique than Barnett and Taco.

he's nowhere near a #11 but should deserve #32 consideration IMO

Yep. And it would allow us to draft another position of need at #11. It's a gamble but it could work.

Agreed. #32 could give us a good choice of the 2nd tier EDGE prospects, if we don't go that route at #11.

FWIW: this is the situation where I think we could take Harris

11: R1P11
S JAMAL ADAMS
LSU
32: R1P32
EDGE CHARLES HARRIS
MISSOURI
42: R2P10
CB TRE'DAVIOUS WHITE
LSU
76: R3P12
WR CURTIS SAMUEL
OHIO STATE
103: R3P39
LB KENDELL BECKWITH
LSU
196: R6P12
EDGE JOE MATHIS
WASHINGTON
229: R7P11
RB DE'ANGELO HENDERSON
COASTAL CAROLINA

Top 5/10 prospect of need drops back and the Saints grab them. Then you grab Harris at 32

Hell, truthfully as long as the dearth of pass rush has gone on I wouldn't be disappointed if they went edge rusher at BOTH 11 and 32. Remember the Panthers going Lotlelelele #14 and Short #44 in 2013? They're not complaining afterwards.

Would have loved him at #18 if we sealed COOKS to Tennessee. Don't see him lasting until 32, he's way too good. #3 DE in the class

You wouldn't hear any complaints from me if they did.

Star and Short are DTs though. We have the DT positions and one DE position filled. There's other needs on defense they could address, namely safety, cornerback, and linebacker first then get the pass rush afterward.

I second this. Think he'll be gone by 32. I do think he's on par or slightly better than Barnett so I wouldn't mind taking him at 11 if/when Solomon isn't there.

I was not proposingh DTs but only illustrating an example of a team going 1-2 at the same position. I wouldn't be upset if they did with edge rushers.

There are enough Dion Jordan, Mingo type disappointing edge rusher stories to fill a round. A news blurb today of another failure...

Saints Talk Consensus choice pick instead of Vaccaro in 2013-

Free agent OLB Jarvis Jones will meet with the Cardinals on Monday.
It is the first known interest for Jones, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are still interested in bringing him back. A first-round disappointment, Jones recorded just six sacks in four seasons with Pittsburgh.

Yeah I got what you were saying. I think if they do go for two edge rushers they should wait though. Lots of interesting guys in the later rounds that are like what Onyemata was last year.

It's pretty much a perfect dream scenario for a Saints and LSU fan

Compared to the guys you mentioned, he's light in the arse and weak vs the run

Yep that's the one hit on him. Great pass rusher though.

I did the NFL Draft Simulator and it is total BS. Fournette and Cooks was still on the board at #32 pick. If that happened my goodness decision decisions. lol

They suck for the most part. Draft day is full of surprises though. It wouldn't shock me if Fournette fell like a rock and Cooks was there in the 2nd though. Who knows what each team will value this year?

draft simulators are not total BS, just 90% BS. Methinks the Madden era/mentality fans believe they are.
