Why does he keep saying his family will be taken care of?

Why does he keep mentioning about his family being taken care of? He says it about 5 times in the press release and the Q&A. He even gets sidetracked saying in during an answer to an unrelated question.

Because he's an old man and I'm sure it was a gut-wrenching decision to cut his daughter and grandchildren out from what, for the past decade or so, was going to be their life's legacy. He's saying that because it's a harsh decision, but otherwise they will be financially secure for the remainder of their lives.

Because to a person like Benson that is what matters to him, which really speaks positively to his character. Regardless of went on he is still concerned about the livelihood of his family after he is gone. That being said, a person like Tom Benson did not get to where he is by running a business from the heart.
Legacy is important, but so are the lives of the people you employ. If she has proven she is not a good manager in small capacities within the business, it's the most logical progression of that is to say she should not run the entirety of the business.

If they contest this stuff, wouldn't a judge issue a gag order? I don't think Rita would want to run her mouth because if she does, it would make her look even worse, and you want the public on your side if you win and wind up running two professional sports teams.

The dirt will come out on both sides and some of the information will be sealed but that won't impact the PR companies each side will hire to sway the public opinion when the dirt sullies everyone on every side including the NFL, NBA, etc. This will be a national media circus with leaks coming from every direction. Venue in Texas will be a key component for the trailer park trash crew.

I took the statement as a bit of a passive aggressive dig on the family. He is saying he isn't a bad guy, he will take care of his family, but he is also kind of insulting them implying that they have always been provided for/spoiled.
"They will be taken care of like they always are b/c I have to take care of them and they can't take care of themselves."
