gonna have to catch up on Combine videos. Reports from those who watched?

From compiled reading so far Lavonte David is looking like a realistic hope. That is, one that could easily already be gone but wouldn't be a shocker to be around.

Curry is looking more like a faint hope, but that happens. Cameron Jordan was somewhat a gift like that last year.

It's evolving to look like DT is one of the best quality/depth positions in this draft. The supply/demand ration might provide a good plugger there. That will deserve a little more research.

Due to working out the house have been able to catch alot of it. A few names that have really stood out to me on the d-side.

Demario Davis LB Arky ST- improved his stock, may have moved into late 2nd-3rd round area. Kid is going to be a good one. This is the LB I have my eye one for the saints at W-side LB.

Luke Kuechly LB BC- solidfied himself as the best LB coming out. Very smooth and impressive. We won't get a sniff of oportunity with him.

Sean Spence LB Miami- He hurt himself pretty bad with his performance. The least on the bench press I think it was 12 reps. Not very smooth in the speed drills was awkward in his breaks. Probaly drops to the 4 to 6 round range. Needs a real good pro day to help himself.

Vontiz Burflict LB ASU- Completely bombed in drills and interviews. Might as well run around the field with a big red flag. May have dropped out of the draft completely.

Dontari Poe DT Memphis- All I can say is holy shite and wow. Very impressive in all phases. May have moved himself into the first DT coming off the board. Was the talk of the d-line.

Fletcher Cox DT MS- Performed pretty well and helped himself. Has the frame to add 20 lbs and carry it well. Someone will be getting a good player.

Did not see much on the offensive side. Watching DB's right now. Big Moe looking good. If I see anything worth mentioning will post it.

Mychal Kendricks is a LBer who has not been talked about much if at all on this board. He was a productive player at Cal for the past 3 seasons and was selected the PAC-12 defensive player of the year for 2011. His career numbers in college are impressive and he worked out well at the combine. Maybe his most impressive attribute is that he can play outside or inside at LBer.

After catching up on Combine stuff I have a new name to add.

I'd call him the guy that looks a lot like other draft picks since '06. Maybe not a day one starter but one that might have upside as high or higher than any other player at his position.

Ladies and Gentleman, Stephen Hill WR Georgia Tech

From PFT-
Georgia Tech’s Stephen Hill made himself some money. He ran an official 4.36 in the forty, good for second among wide receivers. His broad jump led all wide receivers. He’s a big, physical receiver that is a great blocker.

The question with Hill centered more around his receiving skills. He did a very nice job catching the ball and running routes — routes that Georgia Tech didn’t ask him to run. He looked the part and couldn’t help but raise comparisons to former Tech receiver Demayrius Thomas. Don’t be surprised if Hill is called a “riser” after this weekend.

Scouting Reports

Hill did not see a ton of action at wide receiver in his three years at Georgia Tech (since he was playing in a triple-option offense), but he certainly made the most of his opportunities. He averaged 22.8 yards per reception as a freshman, 19.4 as a sophomore, and (with a much larger sample size because he had 28 catches) a ridiculous 29.3 as a junior. Hill caught 820 yards worth of balls and scored five touchdowns. He also had a few carries out of the backfield every year due to his speed and he found the endzone once during his freshman campaign. Although many experts felt Hill should have gone back to school, he is taking his talents to the next level in 2012.
The Lithonia, GA native has outstanding size at 6'5'' and 206 pounds--without question his greatest asset heading into the NFL. He generally runs in the 4.5s in the 40-yard dash and he has been clocked as fast as 4.46 from that distance. Hill is extremely dangerous with the ball in the open field and he is prone to the spectacular catch. He had some drops with the Yellow Jackets, but he more than made up for those with occasional brilliance. Hill's only real downside is that he has never been a part of a pro-style offense and it remains to be seen how consistent he can be day in and day out. Depending on how he fares at the combine, look for Hill to get drafted in the third round this April.
------------------

A tall, long legged wide out who has a decent get off burst for his size. Builds speed as he goes down the field and the further down the field he gets the tougher he is to run with. Showcases good body control when asked to track the football. Locates the throw well, can extend his arms and make acrobatic plays on the football. Knows how to fend off contact down the field. Is a coordinated wide out with good body control, balances himself well when asked to high point the play and can collect himself quickly to go get the football. Showcases "plus" hands at times when asked to pluck off his frame. Exhibits a large set of paws and can snatch cleanly with one hand. However, does have a tendency at times to lose concentration and will put the ball on the ground. Exhibits some wiggle to his game for a bigger receiver with the ball in his hands. Has some natural initial explosion, can change directions and make a cut at full speed, allowing him to side step a defender with the ball in his hands. Exhibits good initial quickness/power as well when asked to side-step/break a tackle in the bubble screen game and is a tough guy initially to bring down.

Isn't a real polished route runner because of the scheme. Is asked to typically just run vertical routes where he can track/height point the football. Has been asked to work from the slot, but seemed to round off/drift in and out of his breaks. And isn't real sharp or sudden in that area of the game. Watching his short area quickness and body control for a big guy he looks like he can certainly develop in the three-step game and has the skill set to be able to beat press coverage off the line. Is a strong blocker and will get after it in the run game. Looks like a 4.5 guy, might be able to run in the low 4.5 range and does have some burst to his game. Can physically get bigger, is tall and long limbed, and I would like to see him add a bit more girth.

Impression: Has a unique skill set, can pluck off his frame, track the football and is the next big time talent from the Georgia Tech program. Is going to need some time to develop, but can come in and track football vertically early on. Has a lot of upside to his game and skill set says he's an NFL starter.

If we were to lose Colston which is a high probabilty, not to mention Meach. This one guy that could come in and give us that big body WR.

Hey Blue you get a chance to watch the defensive guys yet? Just curious who might of stood out to you.

Someone mentioned what about a safety? The kid from Notre Dame (forget his name) looked very good for his size, very smooth almost like a corner.

didn't watch live, catching up on nfln & videos

this guy stood out, sure incredible size/speed combo, but more as a Saints-type pick cuz of the rsik/reward ratio. Could be a #59 that could blossom into an elite type NFL WR. Think how Reuben Randle's numbers could have been with a a real QB. This guy is that way to an even further level. GT is about as all-run as you can find in the NCAA.

Bruce Irvin is intriguing. He improved against the run his senior year and would def add pass rush. Aside from him being raw, he is a tweener though. Can he put on 20-25 lbs (legally) and play end?

Irvin may have combined his way up the draft boards so we dont even get a chance at him. Hill is looks the part has great size to be a possession guy and is definitely a burner that can take it deep on anyone.

A lot of us are focusing on DE's, personaly don't see us drafting one until the latter rounds of the draft. The Saints have alot of youth at the position with the exception of Will Smith. The only way I see one drafted at #59 is if one drops and grades out higher than other positions of need.

Even if we were to lose Nicks and Colston, I feel the FO going to be looking hard at DT and LB at this pick. Even with the lose of the two we have an even greater need at these two positions, but with free agency all this could change.

So I'm gonna rev up fresh looking for 3rd Rd potential guys. Before so though I reviewed these. Out of them a few might still be possible...

Bobby Wagner LB Utah St., look back in the thread for a load of info on him. LBs tend to drop more than any other position IMO

Bruce Irvin- his stock watch is quite mixed. Incredible athlete, major personality red flags, not big enough to be a DE and not enough smarts to go LB

Cam Johnson DE Virginia- need to revisit his stock direction

Sean Spence LB Mia- On the early crossed off list that now might be on the prime list

my take is that it will be position even less than ever before. I won't be surprised at any position in the 3rd Rd except QB, RB, and possibly OT unless they are close to 1st Rd grades.

With the FA moves and possiably more to come, has turned up my interest for the draft even more. With the fallout and lack of movement had started to develope a kind of whatever attitude. But now I am starting to get excited again.

This what we thought when they drafted Meach.

Johnson has the same Sickle Cell trait that Ryan Clark has. While it shouldn't hurt his stock, it is something that has to be kept in mind because he probably wouldn't be available to play in this season's trip to Denver.

Don't really care about this too much. Granted, my understanding of the condition is very limited, but with Clark, it really only seems to affect him in Denver. If that's the case, not a factor IMO. If Denver was in our division, that would be a different story.

Would be VERY happy to get him in the third.

Still wary on his character, but if he's around in the third, I think he's worth the risk.

What about Mike Martin, DT out of Michigan? He's got a 2-3 round grade with most reports I've read.
