That CB from Memphis looks really good.

Yeah he could crack the squad as the 5th CB. Neither Swann nor Crawley are above replacement. I think Swann edges him out though.

Could keep him and Crawley on the PS, because we know how our luck at CB is.

We're deep at CB, but I like the guy from Memphis...PFF's 22nd ranked UDFA---the highest on their list that we landed.

If you are a "stud" coming out of college, you get drafted.

I never said UDFA's can't be developed.

I think the long snapper(due to having a 50% chance), & Travin Dural have the best chance. I think Arthur Maulet has a good chance to make the practice squad.

Not saying he's not fast, but speed isn't really Dural's game (4.57 40), and his hands are small (9"), especially for a 6'1" guy.

I wouldn't discount Lewis so quickly.

If Dural can block in the run game and play special teams, he'll have a good shot.

patriots signed malcome butler as UDFA so ya, we can always get lucky just like they did.

im not confident we did anything to change direction in the pressure we can apply to QB so I hope we bring in as many DE as we can and hope for one of them to be worth replacing someone on the roster now

Who do you want replaced? Top 4 are Jordan, Onyemata, Kikaha, and Okafor, and Hendrickson ain't getting cut.

We keep 6 max (very unlikely unless we only go 3 DTs) and there's Tapp and Gwacham. Outside of those two, none of the others get replaced.

If we plan on playing Onyemata at DE...I dont give Tapp a very good chance of making this team with the other DE's on the roster.

He played both spots last year, and he will again this year, but I think when we need a bigger body at end he'll be in (since Kruger is gone and the others are all sub 260 I believe; edit: Okafor is 264, so all sub 265). So I see him playing more end than tackle this year.

The numbers certainly don't favor Tapp, nor Gwacham.

When we drafted him Payton specifically said he see's him at end, but would start him off inside. He played both spots last year.

Without Kruger we lack a bigger end to pair with Jordan going against heavy sets. He'll play more end this year than last year.

But the spot opposite Jordan will likely see a good rotation.

And another reason he played a good bit of tackle last year is because Rankins missed 7 games and our other option behind Fairley and Davison was Mabry.

Edit:
Also Smith was about to be our starting OLB at around 300lbs. until injuries intervened. So Onyemata being 300 lbs. doesn't mean he has to play inside.

Not to mention the other 300 lbs. DEs around the league.

Dural has size and speed. That by default beats Tommy Lee Lewis on paper.

Ginn Jr. and Kamara do what Lewis can do and better.

Ginn has Cooks' roster spot at the very least. Kamara has Cadet's spot. Lewis' spot is up for grabs and everybody else on the roster is underwhelming.

It "could" happen. Could.

Surprised there aren't more UDFA Defensive ends on the saints list. I know we just drafted 2 but players should see there is Big Team Need.
