The run defense has been pretty solid the last few weeks and I have to imagine he's had a factor in that. I'd like him to be a little more disruptive in the pass rush but hopefully that will come.

PFF gave him an extremely high rating despite not having any tackles or sacks. He must be eating up double teams and anchoring well.

DT is a position that usually takes the longest to make the big leap in the NFL. Not always but for the most part they start to get in a groove around 3rd or 4th year. At least according to Dick Lebeau

It's not easy for the average viewer to judge if he's not making a sack or being disruptive. I'd like to see him pressure the qb more.

GMoney said he made it a point to watch him against the Dolphins and said he was doubled nearly every play, getting double more often than Jordan. Despite that he still affected the run (forcing the runner elsewhere) and got good push in the pass rush.

That third and short stop on Ajayi was all Rankins. Dude completely blew up and penetrated a double team, probably the most impressive thing I saw Sunday.
