What would Kenny Vaccaro's Trade value be?

We picked up his 5th year option, 5.6 million dollar tag value. Would be 100% cap savings if traded/cut. Obviously haven't worked out a long term deal yet although very probable we look to do so.
But what would be the value of KV for a team that would give him that long term deal he may be seeking and lets just play pretend that Jamal Adams fell to 11 and Saints drafted him. Would KV retrieve us a late 1? Decent 2nd round value?

I think most NFL teams will wait for us to give him a large contract then cut him then they pick him up and make him all-pro

I dont think you would get a first for him especially since he is in a contract season and he just got popped on Adderall of all things but still a 4 game PED suspension will be used against you in negotiations.
I think he is certainly worth a 3rd to most of the league and if you have a savvy, patient GM he could bring you a low 2nd in the draft.
I think he is worth more to us on our roster than either of those picks however and we would be better off leveraging his suspension into lowering his figures on a longterm deal.

Adams, Vaccaro, and Bell would make an intriguing physical set of safeties if we do decide to cut Byrd anyways.

Yeah, i'm not convinced we should but there's a couple things here make it intriguing:
1) Kenny Vaccaro is a valuable asset in the NFL and worthy of compensation and Saints have to make a long term decision
2) Jamal Adams is a talented safety freak and could be sitting there for us at 11.

We need to make room for this guy

there is no one on this team that the saints can trade away that has any "real" value to another team (well ok maybe to the browns lol), anyone the saints are willing to let go of will just be cut loose and the only ones worth anything are the few stars of the team that you would have to immediately go out and sign that exact same level or better player and lose in the long run.
this team has no bargaining chips for other players or draft picks that they can afford to let go of.
if I were forced to pick one, cooks, because he is fast but too short and he is a specialty player who needs others to make him good. you saw when he had no help when the other receivers were out, he couldn't get open even on the plays he wasn't double teamed.
I think we could swap cooks for a draft pick and get a bigger taller receiver but that's going to be rolling the dice gamble if you try that

We are gonna cut Byrd aren't we? Please?
I don't think I would even want him at a reduced salary.
Does any one know how he graded vs the other FS in the league this year?

I think Adams will be on the board at 11 and is a 1st round talent. He is a solid all around football player and someone I would not be opposed to adding although I think you may be able to slide down and take him somewhere in the middle of the first.
I dont think I would get rid of KV though. That Malcom Jenkins thing is still biting us in the arse and KV has actually played well here.
If anything especially with a DB coach as DC I would hope Dennis Allen is smart enough if we did go that route to utilize the 3 safety sets that we ran successfully with less talent in 2013.
KV, Bell, and Adams can all work in the box, slot, and just give you so much versatility. As long as we added a solid immediate pass rusher we could have an elite secondary with all 3 of them playing backfield together.
It would certainly be interesting. I think if we went that route though Byrd would need to drastically pay cut himself or we would have to cut him and get some of that cap back in order to fill other needs.

Byrd is a good player healthy, he just wasn't healthy first 2 years. He's been very very good for us this year. WOuldn't say great but very good. I'd want him at a very reduced rate. He frees up too much money with a June 1st cut to stay at current salary.

A snickers bar. About what he's worth.

You might be one of the dumbest posters I've seen on here in a long time and that's saying a whole lot

No shot. 3rd and more likely 4th at best

We need a pass rush in the first.

2nd round pick???? Lol, not a chance. 6th round pick maybe or an earlier round pick exchange. Teams dont give up a second unless its a QB or an elite game changer.

Mark barron who is a lot worse fetched a 4th and 6th.
A skills position player in stills net a 3rd rounder.
Vaccaro would get a 3rd rounder easily, but his ceiling is a 2nd rounder

problem in the nfl is trading valuable assets isn't very common place. Bust Mingo got a 5th from the pats. Vaccaro would easily fetch a 3rd. 2nd is mostly likeliest of scenarios.

In true Saints fashion, if Jamal was sitting there available, Loomis and co. would fine some kind of way to reach for a 4th rounder that nobody else was going to take until the 6th.
