round 1
starter

round 2
Thomas-We'll see, at the very least he'll be a part of the redzone package in year one. Year 2? Look out.
Bell- I think he'll essentially see starter snaps

I think Thomas is going to do great things.

Cooks, Thomas, Snead and Fleener.

Drew has to love the potential

B+ only due to lack of picks.

Rankins will be huge on the line.

Michael Thomas will be the unsung hero in this draft sort of like Jarvis Landry was for the Dolphins. WR was such a need mainly due to the fact Cooks thrives when he has a competent big WR opposite him catching the ball. He struggled early in the season without Graham and a healthy Colston, but then Watson picked it up and took pressure off of him and he had a decent second half of the season.

Bell could transition into some sort of nickel corner due to his size (for those who are so concerned with our safety depth). But he immediately replaces Bush.

Manitoba DE & Lasco seemed to be decent picks. Lasco looks like a poor man's Ryan Mathews with his build.

Bottom line: in my honest opinion, I didn't see this class as being very deep at all except at DT. Trading up to nab Bell, the #2 safety, did not bother me in the least. I think you'll see a lot of these draftees on the bench for most of these teams come the start of the season.

An A+ draft is one that you can come away with 2-3 starters and another 1-2 contributors

I would add a little more to that- I would say the starters have to 'start' 3-4 years. Anyone can start for a season if a team is woeful enough...

I'll give it an A-

Thomas is one of the best pick IMO. Rankins and Bell have been discussed here ad nauseum, great pick that'll most likely contribute right away. Onyemata was an interesting pick. Got a lot of upside. It's a 4th round pick so if we only get a solid rotational guy out of that, I like it and it was a good pick up. Lasco wasn't necessarily a huge need bit he's a great athlete to get in the 7th. Could contribute down the road possibly more than any other 7th rounder we could have taken. Getting Turner as an UDFA was huge tho. I think he'll be able to compete for a starting job by year 2 and he adds some sort of decent depth to the interior of the line.

Overall I think this is one of the best drafts we've had in years. Kudos Sean, Mickey and Jeff.

D

Had the opportunity to solidify the D line but went with a WR.

Gave up a draft pick to choose a player that would have been there in the third round had they waited.

A project in round 4! Project players are 6th or 7th rounders, not 4th rounders! Sweet Jesus…why do they make this so hard?

An RB? Why? Get one of those from the URFA pool. A wasted pick.

The first round pick saves them from an F.

Sheldon Rankins was my top choice for months. My sleeper pick in most of the mocks I did was Lasco in the 7th only. I think Lasco will excel on ST and be a pleasant surprise on third down needed conversions. My grade is B+.

C+

The first three picks were great but the last two were awful. Trading away future picks is such a bad move.

Sheldon Rankins A++
After Round 1 = C

Sadly, I can't see them winning more than 3 games after the Bye.

I didn't realize Lasco's numbers at the combine were so off the chart. .01 behind Drake in the forty.
Sick vertical over 41" top five in broad and shuttle.

I like how he knows he must be a ST beast to get noticed but can't wait to see what else he can do.

Watching him run he reminds me of the good MI

With 4th Round projections, I didn't even give the guy a look...
Always thought it would be Kenyan too high, Josh Ferguson late, or nothing at all...
I love the measurables ... Travaris should be gone for good now.

B-

The staff's lack of patience on the draft is becoming insufferable. This team isn't one or two players away from the Super Bowl. There are many holes in this roster and we needed picks to help try and fill those gaps. I think we ended up with three solid players that will contribute but that's it.

I've hated the early round picks in the past but I thought they went the safe rounte and ended up with solid 1st and 2nd round picks.
I think we will regret passing on Tunsil. He was BPA and we passed for a need. Rankins is a fantastic consolation prize but Tunsil is special.

I think taking a WR and FS in the second were solid picks and will end up being solid contributors for years to come. Safe picks, I didn't like what we gave up for Bell. While I like the player, we lost the opportunity to build cheap depth (at worst). With this draft and our needs, I think we could have drafted two starters with that 3rd and 4th round pick. Still Bell is a great consolation prize.

I hated the later picks. There were players that could have started on our team (Vadal Alexander as one example) but we passed on them for projects that will likely contribute little in the next two years.

While we won't know how well we actually drafted for a couple of years, you can judge today how the staff managed the draft when considering their options.
This draft shows a lot of panic and little patience. They want to win now and are sacrificing the future for the the now.

That being said, solid first three picks that will upgrade he team immediately. However this team has too many holes and needed the picks to help fill those holes.
