ETA A-

We addressed several positions of need (secondary, d-line, wide receiver, guard in udfa), but neglected linebacker while effectively giving up one 6th this year and a 5th next year.

Drafting a running back in the 7th round is also a real head scratcher.

Basically, there was no way the Saints could have addressed all of their glaring holes in the draft. They made decent progress, but could have had 2 more picks to work with this year to provide depth in the secondary or at linebacker.

However, draft grades are pretty meaningless. If Rankins is as advertised and On-yo-mama develops, this draft could completely transform our defense into a truly formidable unit.

Love our first 3 picks.

Don't know much about Onyemata, but like his measurables and athleticism and potential. And his stock was climbing leading up to the draft.

And getting Lasco in the 7th was a nice pick. He's someone that will contribute from Day 1, and that's something you can only say about a few 7th RD picks. Great fit in our offense too.

We got great value with all of our picks except maybe Onyemata. A bit of a reach, but has great size and athleticism and could become a very good player in the future. He's the type of player that you don't mind reaching a bit on. I'm more than pleased with this draft. We definitely improved our team and all of our draft picks are talented players.

We had a good 1st pick and I liked the trade up for Bell, but overall, I take a big wait & see attitude with this draft...I will also go with a C+

I'm going to go with I for Incomplete. I like the 1st 2 picks but not too sure about the other 3. Hopefully they exceed expectations but I still think glaring needs were not addressed.

I grade it a B that may adjust based on our 4th round pick. I think we absolutely nailed it in the 1st three picks! Lasco can be a solid back. Very pleased with this draft.

Saints put names to paper this weekend. We drafted guys to come and compete. You can't ask for more.

I think last year's goal was to try and fix as many as holes as possible with numbers and some developmental types

This year I think early on the goal was to bring in 2-3 guys that you feel extremely confident in that make you a better team right now. I think we definitely did that in rounds 1-3.

saints do seem to focus on needs early and then athletic projects from the 4th or 5th onward

except for the draft 2 years ago that was the worst draft ever

D+. While they got a good player for the 2nd, 2nd round pick it cost way too much. They have too many safeties as it is and other needs should have been addressed.

Rankins is the only thing stopping from a F for me. Todays picks were huge head scratches for me.

WR was a big need and we got 1 of the best in the entire draft. Very talented WR with great length and catch radius, something we desperately need.

And yes we took a RB in the 7TH ROUND. 7th. And it's a player that's a great fit in our offense and will be able to contribute from Day 1, something most 7th RD picks never get to do. And it was a great value pick, he's a 3rd-4th round talent that fell to the 7th due to injuries. Hell, some analyst said it was the best pick in the entire round.

Keep on being miserable.
