He got waived back in September but I scrolled through his twitter and he said something about being on IR.

In any event, shouldn't he be close to healed by now?

I dont think we should keep rehashing former players especially ones who have had major injuries.

The second-year Jets general manager waived four more players on Sunday, including running back Khiry Robinson and cornerback Dexter McDougle. Safety Ronald Martin and running back Dominique Williams were the other two players added to the waiver wire.

If Robinson clears waivers, he can be placed on injured reserve as he continues to rehab a broken leg suffered last November as a member of the Saints. The Jets signed Robinson to a minor one-year deal in March to complement new signing Matt Forte and backup Bilal Powell. Robinson will be replaced on the roster by waiver pickup Troymaine Pope, who spent the preseason battling for a spot on the Seahawks.

Not a doctor, but over a year for a broken leg to heal seems like a very long time.

This is the time of the season that Lasco should start to get adequate playing time and come on for the RB's in front of him, but I haven't seen him. Is he still hurt?? The guy was a good RB in college and is really good all around at running and pass catching. Surprised Payton hasn't made more use out of him.

I like Hightower but beyond this season I do not know where we go at the RB position.

Hightower will be 31 next year
Cadet and Murphy are not NFL players

Lasco has physical talent but he had injury concerns at the college level which is why he fell in the draft in the first place and those concerns appear to be something that could hinder his NFL future.

Ingram is the only sure thing we have on the roster at the position. Lasco will be given every chance to keep his spot next year in TC but we need to add some bodies to the backfield in the offseason.

UFA names of interest at the RB position this year

Leveon Bell - should be franchise tagged but if not he is one of the few elite workhorse capable backs/not sure where the modern day price tag is for RBs and it would be a gamble but for a final 2-3 year Drew window this could be a Terrell Davis type add

Danny Woodhead - 31/coming off ACL but SD pipeline and exceptional passing down back

LeGarrette Blount - Short yardage/Dozer

Christine Michael - productive this year at Seattle but for some reason he keeps getting dumped

Jaquizz Rodgers - very productive in Tampa this year with a couple big games but should never be used in a work horse capacity

RFA
Brandon Oliver
Isiah Crowell
Mike Gillislee
Chris Thompson

overall pretty weak FA RB class but some guys listed could be solid contributors

Yea, I like Lasco. I thought he showed a lot of promise with his running, pass blocking, and receiving ability. Hopefully he doesn't keep getting injured in the future. I see him as a rotation guy in our RB by committee if he can stay healthy. Also, a damn good ST guy. Not bad for a 7th rounder.

Lasco looks like a special teams player to me. I haven't seen the "great pick" I'm hearing about when watching with my eyes.

Did Payton and co show any interest in Robert Kelly out of Tulane?? That guy has taken over the starting RB position for Washington as a got damn FA pickup. lol I don't understand why the Saints keep over looking local LA talent like that. Kelly has been impressive this season for the Redskins. Dude is a 6'0" 230 lb. bruiser that could have been helping them this season in rotation with Ingram and Hightower. He fits that mold they had with Ivory and Robinson.

Yeah idk. I have good connects with saints though the advocate and never heard of anything. But you're right would have been solid pick up. Guess Payton loves Lasco and didn't wanna hurt his confidence perhaps?
