Apparently our gunners tackle our own returners and try to field punts
FG OL unit collapses in the center allowing FGs to be blocked and result in touchdown returns for the other team
ST coverage and tackling are optional
I have zero faith in our returners actually contributing and having any positive impact on the field position battle
If I was a Special Teams Coach in the NFL...how can I check all these boxes and still be employed?

I think ousting McMahon and Johnson has become a clear consensus around here. Vitt pretty close too. For as quick on the draw as Payton has been with DCs it is a mystery why not McMahon. Exclude the kickers out of the conversation and there has been very little special about the special teams for a long time. It looks like he was gone from Eastern Illinois before Payton got there. I dunno what it could be? The pics with sheep? The current Vicodin supplier?
