Making room right now to take care of graham. Harper restructuring was the first step

I think you are correct

Gotta make room for the highest paid coach in the NFL.

Who do you think paid for Sean's titties?

I think they are clearing cap room to make a run at Chris Paul this offseason.

So I'm guessing this is just speculation on your part and nothing has been confirmed yet?

its definitely an assumption...we are over the cap by roughly 25 mill...before we can think about extending we need to shave that and this helps...i would expect another Drew Brees fiasco...franchise tag...cap maneuvering...and eventually a new long term ridiculous(by my standards of course...however NFL totally worth it) deal...the whole Loomis big contract caboodle

since when
1st off, that is impossibly to say since we don't know the 2014 cap. If you are talking about 2013, you are an idiot.
2nd, if you are considering team options as spent cap, you are still an idiot

im sorry let me clarify....we are projected to be over the cap by 25 million(pre harper pay cut/extension) for the 2014 season...no shite we arent over the cap for 2013.... surrounded by tards...the projected 2014 cap will be no higher than 125...so possibly only 20 mill over as a best case scenario...

why...at the moment that option would be picked up if that player is on the team...we havent cut him yet...resigned him...renegotiated...why would i think that such players would or wouldnt be on the team...i think being an idiot would be the person presuming otherwise...please tell me more

I think it may happen sometime towards the end of camp. I say this in case of any injuries and we need to sign someone still out there like a Charles Woodson

Jake Byrne is the best of the bunch.

Will Smith would count nearly $14 mil against the cap next year but saves about $10.5 mil if the option isn't picked up. Pretty safe to say he won't be back on that deal. Now he could be signed to a new deal after the option isn't picked up.
Harper was in the same boat. He likely would have stayed this year but next year he would have been gone without the restructure.
Looking at it we will be around $8-10 mil over given a $123-125 cap after taking Harper's restructure and not picking up Smith into account.
I assume we will push around some of Brees' and maybe Colston, Moore, and/or Evans' money
Edit:
Looking at overthecap's numbers Smith would save $11.5 mil putting us at $130.5 mil committed towards the 2014 cap($142 mil with him), so if that's right we'd only be $5.5-7.5 mil over.
That's actually better than where we started this year. Of course we still need to sign Graham, DLP, and our 1st and 2nd round picks would tack on a bit.
If Loomis can do a little more magic and we can sign a couple of good-great free agents I'd be very impressed.
