Pretty long article but a lot of the things we've joked about have really come to fruition in the Seattle offense. To the point where when they won't run behind him even when they have a #s advantage.

I'm never going to personally attach the guy because he was too good for us here, but that trade is looking better every week for us. We may not have hat absolute slam dunk red zone threat, but I'll take Drew not getting his arse handed to him on every pass play over that. Not to mention getting what seems like our MLB of the future.

He's a red zone and seam nightmare but I really thought it was his injuries hampering his ability to block , now I just got no more fricks to give either way but we do miss his presence in red zone

Brees doesn't miss a Goodwin/Lelito Center combination

This is why I was okay with the trade. Everyone we played knew that we were running the ball if Watson was in for Graham and vice versa. Great receiver but not a complete tight end. I truly believe we got the better end of the trade if you factor in Anthony's potential, Unger's play and the cap space it created for the future. That being said we do miss him in the pass game.

Eff that. Graham got too swell headed and diva status. He couldn't run block when he was here and that was fine and dandy when he was catching everything. Then if it wasn't a perfect pass from Brees he would alligator arm the shite out of every pass. THAT was a problem with what we were paying him. Oh and the disappearing act in big games.

Not just him though and I called the fall a while ago. They lost three starting Olinemen and the stats said their run game was much better with Unger in than out.

They gave up an All Pro center and a first round pick for a guy they won't be able to use effectively. Wilson is going to be racking up the rushing yards because he has no one to block for him.

Meanwhile though we may have lost our goal line (NOT red zone) TD threat and the huge body down the seams, we gained stability in the middle of our line (and it REALLY showed in the first game) and a potential stud at MLB (he looked good in coverage and against the run for the most part).

They have definitely been the losers of the trade thus far.

90% of his TDs were a post up on the goal line. The rest were deep seam throws. He didn't do shite between 6-20 as far as scoring.

I'd say that's likely not statistically true

How many times do you recall him posting up on the goal line and scoring? How many times do you recall him scoring ANY other way?

We actually both lost if we're looking at a standpoint from last year.

Seattle's OL and run game became worse.

New Orleans OL became better, but we can't score.

But honestly, what is harder to find? An All-Pro TE/Pro Bowl WR or an All-Pro Center

A lot is at goal line but he's still a field stretcher in red zone for this offense. To say he wasn't a huge influence inside 20's is ignorance

That more important question is what is more important, protecting your HOF quarterback and giving him time in the pocket or giving him weapons to throw to that creates mismatches? To me blocking and anything that helps you win on the line of scrimmage is vastly more important than anything else downfield.

Didn't say anything about his influence in the red zone. I only said he isn't a TD threat outside of the five (though really it may be outside the seven so I sold him two yards short).

Why do you even line him up as a tight end at this point? You don't have to worry about the tag and having him ruled as a WR. The Saints already fought that battle.

Now I know that part of his success is predicated on matchups, and he has issues with corners at times, but I'd just say screw it and make him a WR.

This is exactly why Graham wanted to be considered a WR. Hell. Thats basically all he is.

Who is ruining our running game?

At least Graham can get in the endzone, which will be a miracle for our offense this season.

Unger hasn't really been a difference maker on our OL either
