Not drew Brees like to miss wide open receivers running across the middle. Seemed like everytime he missed one cooks was the receiver he was trying to get it too smh, you say you wanna help the team well you are hurting them now with your complaining and whining, you was helping by taking the coverage away from the middle of the field, it's not like he was getting the ball, dude still gonna be a 1000 yard receiver and crying for the ball smh

He missed Thomas on that one deep pass, but that was more of a good defensively play than poor decision. He had a shot and he took it, the other two picks were under thrown. Reports said he was sick/ill so it could be that but definitely not a good game

Ok thanks for the clarification, maybe I'm just more upset with the cooks complaint, he's gonna be a 1000 yard receiver but yet still crying for the ball

Well WRs tend to be loud mouths and divas. That's what made Colston so different because he was the opposite.

Yup, even still Moore colston and Henderson for the most part rarely complained if at all. That trio definitely set a tone of expectations for attitude. Was hoping this current trio was going to be the same.

There were 1 or 2 throws where that may have been the case but I don't know know that Drew would let some whiny WR force him to make decisions he normally wouldn't.

If Cooks is really going to be a problem going forward, maybe we should trade him.

Why do you hate Cooks so much? You have 11 posts and over half have been talking crap about him? Dude is a solid receiver, who stretches the defense for Thomas and Snead underneath.

If the worst thing he has said in three years was his tweet the other day, then I think we are fine.

I don't hate cooks, u just stated what he's unhappy with, he's unhappy with stretching the field just for Thomas and Snead to be open across the middle, and if you don't like my 11 post stop following them clown

Colston was a 7th round pick that worked hard and never forgot where he came from. Cooks is a first round draft pick that was probably taken too high based on projections and thinks that he belongs among the elite WRs in the league.

Maybe it is the classic syndrome of what makes the result the product or the process. There is no doubt that Brees pumps the engine, but Cooks sees himself as a vital part of that process.

Now history has shown that Brees has made several WRs look successful and has done what he could with Coleman.

Cooks is not a #1 receiver and will never be. He is a solid #2 receiver.

He never said he was unhappy, he was frustrated getting 0 targets. That's called competitive spirit. Good to see someone on the team show some fire in their belly.

yeah, that's not true at all...he's not elite, but he was a mid-late 1st rounder and went where he was projected. He's a dynamic receiver that pulls defenses and accounts for multiple defensive players to game plan around. That is the definition of a #1 receiver and maybe its not elite, but its worthy of a 1st round guy.

I mean right now that whole draft class was loaded with receivers, but we ended up with one of the better guys. Hell, I'd consider him more worthwhile than Evans since Evans drops balls like no tomorrow.

2014:
Watkins (4th) - 33 games, 137 receptions (55.7 completion% to him), 2210 yards, 15 TDs, 1 FumL
Evans (7th) - 42 games, 218 receptions (53.2 completion% to him), 3315 yards, 25 TDs, 1 FumL
OBJ (12th) - 39 games, 262 receptions (63.0 completion% to him), 3770 yards, 33 TDs, 4 Fum(1lost)
Cooks (20th) - 38 games, 195 receptions (68.9 completion% to him), 2497 yards, 18 TDs, 1 Fum(0lost)
Benjamin (28th) - 28 games, 123 receptions (51.0 completion% to him), 1762 yards, 14 TDs, 2 FumL

Lee (39th) - 35 games, 101 receptions (56.7 completion% to him), 1228 yards, 4 TDs
Matthews (42nd) - 43 games, 209 receptions (64.9 completion% to him), 2555 yards, 19 TDs, 3 Fum(1lost)
Richardson (45th) - bad
Adams (53rd) - 41 games, 147 receptions (58.3 completion% to him), 1722 yards, 12 TDs, 2 Fum(1lost)
Latimer (56th) - bad
Robinson (61st) - 38 games, 184 receptions (52.6 completion% to him), 2570 yards, 22 TDs, 1 Fum(0lost)
Landry (63rd) - 44 games, 269 receptions (71.2 completion% to him), 2735 yards, 11 TDs, 2 Fum(1lost)

Brees's bad game falls on himself and the play calling. There's times after a catch that Thomas been seen saying "get me the ball"...Its apart of the game.

I thought most projections had him going 26th-32nd plus they were factoring in his return ability which we do not take advantage of because I guess we do not want to risk a starting WR.

I'm not sure that the Stats reflect the picture here and the reason is that for the most part Brees has been a 300 yard passer that spreads the ball around in this offense. By that nature any one of the other WRs that you listed would have benefitted by playing in the Saints' offense. I doubt that Cooks would have had the same stats if he was playing with Winston as Evans is.

That is why I said it is an interesting situation similar to Graham who thought that he was all-World and should be paid like the top WRs in the game. His stats are not nearly the same with Wilson delivering the ball.

Where has it been established that Cooks was whining when he made that statement because I took it as he was saying he had to get back to the business of finding a way to get open.

I'm not blaming Cooks for Brees' actions, but I did notice he was trying to force him the ball and it cost us at times.

Wish he would have kept quiet and been more of a team player after such a successful game.

I know I was in the minority being pretty down on cooks after his initial season. I have not had any real reason to change that position since.
I am so ready to move past the Cooks era in N.O. He's another wasted first rounder.
Let's Fast Forward this chapter.

Graham is still on pace for 1k yards after an injury that derails careers.

So I mean, realistically that's a wash in stats.

At the same time the offense we run works well by hitting defenses from every angle, as to why even our #1 won't post top 5 numbers yearly so for us to have two potential 1k receivers this year speaks a lot about the receivers too.
