Vilma Could Miss Multiple Games/IR Still a Possibility

Captain Obvious reporting, but it's still reported this morning. Larry Holder also tweeted that IR is still a "possibility" in the future.

I'm guessing because he's a team leader, not Chris Chamberlain. Payton won't give up on him. He's gone through too much shite for his career to end this way.

And replace him with who? One of the 6 ILB's were going to be inactive on game days. So it'll be him until he's healthy. If we cut him we get nothing. He can still be an asset, especially teaching the young guys.

They must think he's got a shot to come back. I'd wait 6-8 games. That's a lot, but if we release we won't get anything nearly as good to replace him.

Because you still pay his salary on IR AND his replacement's salary.
Don't have him on the active 45 until he's healthy, and if he's not fit by midseason, THEN go ahead and sign someone else.

Butler is on PUP and we can't designate vilma for the 6 weeks ir till tomorrow, and I see meachem taking his spot (cause he just arrived into town today to meet with the saints tomorrow

I understand that JV opted for arthroscopic knee surgery after seeking a second opinion, but why did he wait until the last couple of weeks before the season starts to have a knee procedure? He had all off-season to do that, GRRRRRRR!!

I don't like the Meachem thing. However, its nice of the Saints to give him a look.
As for Vilma, I don't know if I have a problem with him not being on the field. I think the ILBs 3 deep are fine.
