Good read here

"If you don't have it, then you need to make up for it with hard work," Vaccaro said. "Playing hard will erase a lot of mistakes. I've wiped out a lot of plays by just running to the ball. ... Like in the [Week 2] Giants game, Victor Cruz runs that option route on me, [and cornerback] Kenny Crawley plays hard to the ball and pops it in the air, and we get the ball back. It's little things like that, that have nothing to do with talent.

Things like that also have nothing to do with scheme, which is what the big problem is.

How is scheme a problem?

Regarding my question above. What other kind of scheme do ya'll want that Gibbs, Williams, Spags, RR, and Allen haven't tried? Gibbs was too conservative, Williams was too aggressive, esp after SB win, Spags was too much thinking involved, RR was also too much thinking involved, and Allen, what is everyone's issue with him? His top 5 CBs going in to TC are hurt. His more than likely 2nd best pass rusher (Kikaha) is on IR.

Ya'll wanna load the box up and blitz with a bunch of UDFA CBs? Have ya'll seen our D play when other teams run a screen and we aren't blitzing, can you imagine how bad that would work if we did? Ya'll want Byrd to play closer and "roam" Remember 2014 season when we tried to let our FS play close up and roam with no pass rush? Didn't work out well. The problem is depth on Dline, and we are weak at MLB. We can't stop the run, that's the first thing that needs fixing. We have one good pass rusher in Jordan, obviously we need more than that. I said before, Kikaha going down was a bigger blow than most people realize. One player on D shouldn't affect us that much but our depth still isn't where it needs to be.

Vaccaro has really elevated his game. Great thing for us going forward.

Get a good pass rusher in the draft and some more depth in FA, and this is a talented defense going forward with a lot of young talent.

If you take out the last quarter of the Raiders game and the entire Falcons game, you have five quarters of awful defense. Then there is the three quarters of the Raiders game and the entire Giants game that are 7 quarters of solid defense.

It's a small sample size nightmare, honestly. But the Saints played horribly Monday night and got exposed and the injuries are magnifying it.

There's talent here, but it's all in the infirmary.

This is correct. There is talent and a TON of inexperience. There will be really high Ups and really low downs that come with the youth. The good thing is that when do get healthy, we will have a lot of cheap experienced depth. This season may hurt and payoff next year.

Vaccaro is right. In the present tense we don't have the luxury of playing conservatively you have to get aggressive sometimes meaning taking some chances.
Just like Coach Mora said these players don't have the
mindset of wait till next year. At 0-3 and injury plagued as this team is they have no other choice but to step out the box and take some chances.

I mean, he's right, but it's hard to elevate it so much when the talent discrepancy is far superior

No the talent on the field that's healthy is the problem. And there isn't much better behind that. Crowley is a good player but he shouldn't be on the field this much in any other defense.

You're an idiot... you prove this almost everytime you open your mouth (type with your hands)

On another note, one of the biggest problems are on the shoulders of two players who aren't even on the field for the defense

Galette - 17.5 mil cap hit this year
J. Byrd - 10.5 mil cap hit this year

That's almost 30 million dollars of salary cap WASTED... hard to have quality starters and/or depth starting off that far in the hole

Wait what? Jarius Byrd actually plays??? Could have fooled me
