He showed flashes of greatness last year and did awesome in the first preseason game. We have no depth at DT sadly. Jenkins is a bust. I feel Davison and Fairley will hold things down, but we definitely need to sign someone else. Or Onyemata will be staying at DT.

I've got a good feeling about Davison. I think he'll step up in a big way.

Tyeler Davison takes over as Saints' starter at nose tackle
WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.V. -- The New Orleans Saints have a new anchor in the middle of their defense.
Tyeler Davison, a 2015 fifth-round pick out of Fresno State, has parlayed a strong camp into a starting role in Dennis Allen's defense, beating out incumbent nose tackle John Jenkins, who has been sidelined due to injury for the past week.
"He has had a pretty good training camp," Saints head coach Sean Payton said Sunday. "He would be our first-string nose tackle right now. He is. He’s running with the ones and that’s encouraging.”
Davison, at 6-foot-2 and 309 pounds, flashed promise in his rookie season. Used mostly as a rotational player, Davison played 525 snaps, started five games and piled up 18 tackles and 1.5 sacks, setting the stage for a breakout in West Virginia this August.
And on top of his natural ability, Davison's quickness makes him a great fit for Dennis Allen's defense, which asks defensive linemen to do less two-gapping and spend more time penetrating.
"He’s been really good," Payton said. "I’d say his quickness at the snap (has been a strength), I think he’s sudden, I think he’s pretty instinctual, I think he’s pretty smart. He’s kind of a leverage player."
