How the hell is Gerald Hodges's still a FA? Didn't he tear it up for SF last year?

Yea, I thought someone would have scooped him up by now as well.

There are some pretty good LB's still available, but signing one would just overload the position for us. We already have 7 guys likely to make the roster.

My favorite guys for our roster(if the price is right) are...

CB Jason McCourty
CB Tramaine Brock
WR Michael Floyd
OC Nick Mangold
DE Elvis Dumervil
TE Gary Barnidge(we have plenty of TE's. He's an upgrade though)
DE Devin Taylor

I'll take the best couple CBs, Mangold, and Barnidge.

Freeny. There is still a role for a pass rusher in the NFL.

Mangold would be great considering the Unger injury.

I also would like to take a flyer on Michael Floyd on a 1 year deal, incentive-laden with none-to-little guaranteed money. He's a big, talented WR that also blocks well. Take a low-risk flyer and cut bait if he hasn't overcome his issues with alcohol.

Couldn't hurt to bring in any one of those top CBs. Mangold and Barnidge. And check where Floyd's head's at.

I'd like one of the top CB's and maybe Mangold as well. We have the money, & should get even more after June 1st for the Jairus Byrd cut. 1 year contracts are zero risk for us. I assume we sign at least 1 F.A. in the next couple of months.

AP's contract(no guaranteed 2018 money) of 3.25 was perfect for us.

Taylor is basically like Okafor. Both have shown flashes but haven't been consistently dominant.

On Dumervil, I'd be worried if he hit that cliff or if the last two years were flukes. He'd have to come very cheap with incentives.

Mangold is only a consideration if Unger is going to miss more time than initially reported.

We have to be careful on using up this year's cap instead of carrying it forward. We'll have around $10 mil left once Byrd is cleared and we pay the rookies and stuff.

Next year we are projected to be at $37 mil under. If Brees hits FA that drops to $19 mil and greatly reduces our ability to resign him. If we carry most of that $10 mil forward it will greatly help in that sceanrio.

Then there are players we have to make decisions on like Vaccaro and Ellerbe, as well as guys that should be less costly.

No need to go on a spending spree now given the options out there.

Can Mangold play guard? Personally I love Mangold but I would want someone that can fill in at center then be able to play guard when Unger gets back.

Someone said that he doesn't want to play guard, but if the options are to play guard or sit on the bench...I assume he would play guard.

About the ONLY one I'd be interested in. Was great in TN, misused in TB. Still has a couple-few good years left in the tank if he can get back to those TN days.

If he comes cheap enough though

could be somewhat intriguing...Maybe.

Who is this Paul Kruger guy? Seems like he might be a solid fit at DE. We do need pass rushers
