They have to be the two most inept in regards to drafting I've ever seen.

Seriously, they've gotten some luck with Colston, Evans, and Nicks, but overall this staff is an embarrassment when drafting.

Jenkins was reasonable, the 4th picks seemed okay, but to give up a 7th and next year's fifth for a punter? You have got to be flippin kidding me. :banghead: :banghead:

it was a weak draft class anyway, everyone was going for the different strategies this year.

Why give up future picks in an weak draft. Pretty sure the punter would still be there in the seventh.

Agree!

This draft was flat out pathetic. They have had one good draft........that's it!

No RB ..... WTF?????

Not at all. You realize we just gave up a 5th and 7th for a friggin punter that was known for his kicks getting blocked consistently. Not to mention we have a solid punter that the team has been praising.

We still could've used a solid back, and instead we not only lose our 7th, but give up our 5th next year.

This regime is utterly stupid.

Payton's contradicting himself the more he talks on WWL about this pick. He says this year's an average draft, yet you give up next year's 5th rd in a projected better draft to move up in this average draft. These guys really can't see the forest for the trees. I mean it has become laughable. That's right, laughable. You could hear it throughout the war rooms around the league when it was announced NO traded up for a Punter. The rest of the league must be knocking over their own mothers to get in line and deal with this front office in the draft.

I had flashbacks of Russell Erxleben when I saw that pick.

At this rate, they may have a better record. Hey - maybe we can keep this up and stockpile first round picks in the near future!

I think he was refering to giving up the 7th this year to make an even exchange for 5ths instead of giving up a 4th next year for this years 5th

I'd like to see some proof of this.

To trade up to draft a punter is ridiculous, especially when you could at LEAST take a chance on a running back thats still out there undrafted, and have another pick to use on that punter or another punter available. OH well, I'm still on the bandwagon, but I really don't get that move.

You want them to force a pick on a RB they may not want?

We got a 5th and gave up a 5th and 7th. So we lost one total draft pick. I am not agreeing with the play, but it isn't as bad as you are portraying it.

We will get a RB in free agency. There are a few guys that could possibly make a small impact or hae some playing time.

Are you serious? We gave up a 5th in a likely much deeper and better draft next year, plus a 7th this year for a friggin PUNTER!!!! Where in that do you not see a problem. Especially after last year where we dropped our 6th on a kicker that lasted not even a full season on the team.

Bush
Colston
Nicks
Ellis
Evans
Harper
porter
maybe arrington or pressley?

that's eight starters in just two drafts.(frick 2007)i'd say Loomis and Payton have done pretty well.

Geauxbob, I wish you were in charge of the Saints....we would have had a perfect draft and a better chance at winning the Super Bowl if a loser know-it-all arm chair quarterback like yourself was our GM....i'm sure every freakin year your one of those that bitches about all our picks no matter what...can't make you happy...i wish Loomis only knew half of what you know..
