Tigah32 Saints Mock Draft

Hate to clutter up a board, but truly how I believe it goes down. Not posting any trade because NFL trades during the draft are damn near impossible to predict.

1st Round Barkevious Mingo OLB/DE LSU- For some reason his draft stock keep's falling. His combine numbers were great. His biggest criticism was his stats weren't impressive his 2012 season. The thing is he played DE in a 4-3 D. At OLB in a 3-4 he'll be a force to be reckoned with and instantly bolster the Saints pass rush. In the next 5 years Mingo and Martez Wilson very well could combine to be one of the top QB sacking combo's in the league.

*If Jarvis Jones or Star Lotulelei are available I believe the Saints take them instead, but I think teams will overlook their medical problems due to the immense amount of talent and they won't be on the board come the 15th pick.

3rd Round- Bacarri Rambo Safety UGA- He's had a tad bit of an injury history but the dudes a 1st round talent ball hawk that can lay the wood.

*I really hope we get Jamar Taylor the CB from Boise here, but I don't believe he gets out of the 2nd.

4th round- Leon McFadden CB San Diego State
- I really wanted to mock Oday Abouoshi here but our D was so incredibly bad last year and with Payton back our O will continue to be the best in the league and with this pick we give Ryan some more toys to play with.

5th round- Jordan Mills OT La Tech- With good size (6'5" 316 lbs) and a motor that doesn't stop, Mills could be a huge steal in the draft.

6th round- Ray Ray Armstrong Safety Miami(FL)-A huge safety that runs in the 4.5's is worth spending a 6th round pick on.

7th round- Blaize Foltz OG TCU - A 6'3" 330lb OG that ran a 5.3 40 would be a great pick up in the 7th.

Jordan Mills will be gone in the 3rd. He's moving up on all draft boards.

Think we grab a NT somewhere.. Even if Bunkley can hold down the fort, gotta get one this year to groom

because he's all flash and no substance

I'd be happiest with Ray Ray on your list. That guy is a football player.

re: Tigah32 Saints Mock Draft
I'll take a stab at a trade scenario...

In this scenario the top four 3-4 OLB will be gone before #15 (Dion Jordan #2 Jags, Jarvis Jones #4 Philly, Ansah #6 Cle, Mingo #9 Jets)

Debating whether to take a DB or NT at this spot, Green Bay calls and offers its 1st, 2nd, and 5th round picks (26, 55, 152) to move ahead of Rams and Dallas for the services of S Kenny Vaccarro from Texas; their heir apparent to Charles Woodson. Trade Value of #15 = 1050. Trade value of 26,55,152 = 1080.

While sitting at 26, Miami calls and they can’t believe that Minny takes Tavon Austin over Keenan Allen. Mia offers their 2 2nd round picks (42 & 54). Trade Value of #26 = 700; Trade value of 42&54 = 860. Miami over pays in value, but they get the guy that they almost drafted w their first round pick; they also keep Allen out of their division rival Pats lap.

Saints Picks = 42, 54, 55, 75, 106, 137, 152, 173

#42 (via Mia) 2nd Round Saints Select
Alex Okafaor, OLB Texas
Saints finally get their premier pass rusher at a good value. Some mocks have Okafor going in the 1st round area and others have him dropping in the 2nd due to health concerns. Played 4-3 DE at Texas, he didn't show amazing speed off the edge but still managed almost 1 sack per game.

# 54 (via Mia) Saints Select
David Amerson, CB NCST
6'3 corner/safety hybrid that runs a 4.44. He had a disappointing junior season after being one of the best ball-hawks in the country his sophomore year. After watching their corners get bullied year after year, Loomis takes a page out of the Seahawks playbook and targets a corner with a bigger frame

#55 (via GB) Saints Select
Menelik Watson, OT Florida St
6'6 320 extremely athletic but raw. The former basketball player can step in right away at RT, or compete at LT if Bushrod is gone. Payton watched Brees get whacked all year and addresses the problem early in the draft.

#75 Saints Select
Brandon Williams, NT Missouri Southern
6'1 335 with good upper body strength and low center of mass. NT is an absolute need, as Bunkley is not the long term answer, and may not even be the answer this year

#106 Saints Select
J.J. Wilcox, S Georgia Southern
6 foot safety who had a great Senior Bowl. Helps provide depth, especially if Harper is cut. My guess at the token small school product that Loomis always grabs.

#137 Saints Select
Chris Faulk, OT LSU
Potential 1st round pick had he not gotten hurt early in his junior year. I don't think Payton will ever allow his brainchild Brees to be protected by a bouncer again like last year. May beat out and Strief and Charles Brown for the RT spot this year. Yes, I picked an LSU tiger..

#152 (via GB) Saints Select
Michael Mauti, ILB Penn St
The local product will provide depth at the ILB position that will be needed, especially if Vilma is gone. He won't remind Rob Ryan of Sean Lee, but he is a volume tackler and has good technique.

#173 Saints Select
Michael Williams, TE Ala
6'6 and 265, Williams is known for his run blocking ability, especially at sealing off the edge. Also runs a 4.5 and could be another toy for Payton to have if he wants to go into a heavy set formation.

re: Tigah32 Saints Mock Draft
Rambo in the 3rd and Armstrong in the 6th would be two excellent picks. I thought both would be projected higher by now (or before now), because they are talented players. Armstrong is one of those rare safeties that could've played safety or linebacker in college.

Rambo would be a nice pick up that late. He reminds me of Laron Landry the way he brings the wood

Can't wait to see how Mingo adjusts to OLB
