Problem isn't Drew, it's his contract. (Fair Market Value) Contract that big and your oline gets weak, your receivers are less talented, and you don't have enough cap to field a good Defense. We haven't drafted all that well and have lost great players while others have just gotten old. Also doesn't help that draft picks and our coach was locked out for 365 days for a bullshite witch hunt that lacked any credible proof.

And you think this is all because of Drew's pay check? C'mon man.

Yeah, cause Romos contract is similar to brees. Dallas proves you can't have a great line while paying $$$ for a QB.

I'm going to say something unpopular. He did have a lot to do with the team losing last year. Interceptions at key places on the field either redzone or giving the other team outstanding field position. Now I know he was trying to make plays, and was under pressure a lot, but sometimes it is better to take the sack, and punt.

crazy thing about QBs, they turn the ball over more when under pressure

What Crash says here and the idea of Drew not being in decline are not mutually exclusive propositions.

The line sucked.

So Drew plays this year. They extend him one year and help the cap hit. Drew retires after the 2017 season after back to back to back super bowl victories. Drew runs for Mayor of NOLA and wins with a unanimous vote. Drew makes a speech asking all NOLA to end crime. NOLA agrees because, well, Drew Brees asked them to. Baylen and Bowen become the #1 ranked high school prospects at QB. Both commit to LSU. LSU enjoys a six year run with a Brees under center. LSU wins 5 NCs.

This is the most realistic thing I have read on here in a very long time.
