OLB Clay Matthews.

LINK

I can't tell you how I know or even if I truly know it but I tell you what, they may or may not draft him but if they do, remember where you heard it preached first.

I'm out.

Why would you be disappointed? Positionally disappointed? Player disappointed? Race disappointed?

Every player is a gamble. I don't have the list of the sure thing players, can you forward that to me?

But on a side note, he's a hard worker who is big, physical, strong, adequate speed, and even better quickness in the 3 cone drill and 20 yard shuttle which is more important for LB's. A former walk on who knows how to compete and is an excellent special teams player for the meantime which is always a bonus. Has a knack for blocking kicks along with he's a little bit of that hybrid LB who can rush the passer and everyone knows we need more pass rushing ability on the defensive side of the ball. There is not much downside to this player. PLus on top of all of it, he's not a queer like cushing.

Minus the walk on schtick I heard the same thing about Keith Rivers a year ago. He didn't do crap and Clay Matthews and Cushing are basically worse versions of Keith Rivers.

I disagree. Keith Rivers was never a favorite of mine at all. Clay Matthews can become an NFL player IMO.

But since you mentioned Rivers, he was on pace for a 100 tackle season until he got hurt. He was actually playing very well for a rookie making his first 6 career starts. Also had a pick and a sack in those games as well.

Tackles is a shitty stat for LBs. LBs get tackles unless they are extremely shitty. Especially on a bad defense(Which Cinci is/was) where there is no one else that can make a tackle(Which there isn't in Cinci)

Watching him play he wasn't impressive.

Well arguing about Keith Rivers doesn't really have relevance to Clay Matthews anyways so... lets keep the focus on Matthews.

BTW... what is a good stat for LB's?
