NOLA.com updated their visit list today, and includes the type of meetings. That is the most of any player. They met with him at the Combine, had Lunch with him, and met him again on April 14.

Just thought I would point this out.

Others of note, they've met with Spence and Nkemdiche twice.

Does make one wonder. Drafting him is writing a goodbye letter to drew after this year.

They've met with the following amount of players by position:

CB: 4
DE: 7
DT: 4
FB: 1
OG: 2
K: 2
LB: 8
OT: 2
QB: 5
RB: 1
S: 5
TE: 2
WR: 7

SOme of those are a bit arbitrary, like Su'a Cravens, who I listed as a LB but could easily be listed as a S.

He's going in the 1st round, early 2nd most likely would be the latest.

I'm hoping its a smokescreen, to entice a team to move up to 12.

Answering questions about these guys in case one falls. Payton has said as much many times.

They visit with guys they want more info on or have questions about for whatever reason. Makes a lot of sense for Nkemdiche and Spence.

There are guys out there that the Saints love and would draft in a heartbeat but aren't visiting with them 2-3 times.

This is what I was thinking. May entice someone like the Jets to try to move up

Could be trying to light a fire under Condon to get Brees' extension done also.I would not blame them if they drafted a QB at 12 in Brees isn't extended.

You do realize that eventually, not soon by any means, Brees will retire? I'd rather have a first round pick waiting and ready to go then have to get desperate.

If Brees plays extreme hardball in talks and the Saints decide they can't afford him after this year they should go ahead and get what they can now and not wait another year. His value will not get any higher than now I think.

Those folks who think we can win it all this year should think other wise of course

Condon is too smart for those games. He will not be intimidated.

"I'm hearing that the New Orleans Saints could indeed take a quarterback in the first round, and if Carson Wentz is on the board with that 12th-overall selection, perhaps that is where any slide would stop.

In fact, I don't believe they would pass on him there as their quarterback of the future, and some execs maintain the Saints are also in the market to move up for a QB under the right circumstances."

I hate that this has become a popular semtiment. Teams have a limited number of personal visits, they're not going to waste them in the hopes that they dupe some team into thinking they're interested. Personal visits may not be the best indicator of WHO the team will take, but is of WHAT the team wants to/will take. Look at our list, DE, DT, S, WR and LB all clearly ahead, and all positions we've all agreed need to be addressed. Notice QB is right up there. Like it or not the position is something the FO is seriously considering, and Lynch being somebody they're obviously very interested in.

And tbh, I wouldn't absolutely hate him if he's the pick either, granted Lawson is gone. He's the perfect QB to sit behind Brees, because IMO he has one of the highest ceilings in this draft, I just don't think he's ready to start immediately. And if he does go somewhere he's thrust into starting, that's where he will struggle. However here he'd be able to sit at least 2 years. Develop mentally and physically, and quite possibly solidify the most important position on the field for another decade, to add on to the decade Brees has already given us. That's 20+ years of not having to worry about arguably the most important position in professional sports.

A lot of yall need to pull your head out of the sand. Brees will be 37 this season and is in contract negotiations. Father time remains undefeated. If we re-sign him, and IF we're lucky I think we get 2, MAYBE 3 more years of above average play. I mean look at Peyton. In the span of 2 years he went from record-setter, to obvious weak link on a SB team. Brees isn't special, he is not immune to this, nor has any athlete before him been. The window is shutting quickly, and I mean very quickly. It's time to start thinking of the post-Brees Era and how we can remain competitive after he's gone. If Payton feels Lynch has the tools to do so with some proper time and coaching, I'm all for that.

Unless yall want to be the Browns, Rams, etc. in 3 years - teams in pereptual limbo because of poor QB play for over a decade. (Obviously that might change this year.) - Just hoping on getting a top pick when the "right" college QB prospect comes along. Even the Rams have had some nasty defenses and haven't accomplished shite because of how poor their QB play was.

Loomis signs Laurinaitis, Kyle Wilson, and a whole lot of irrelevant nobodies while Drew Brees' situation remains up in the air as if he's some scrub not worth prioritizing

Thanks for those numbers

I would think that those are proportional to the amount of players that are draftable, right?
