New Orleans Saints

Overrated: LB Curtis Lofton -- He is supposed to be a thumper in the run game, and he wasn't great against the run last season. He's also a liability in coverage.

Underrated: DT Akiem Hicks -- He doesn't get much attention on the defense, but he does a lot of the grunt work. He did get five sacks last season. He has a chance to be special.

I can't disagree

Underrated: QB Tony Romo -- Yes, Romo. Without him, the Cowboys stink. And let's please stop the narrative that he's bad in the fourth quarter. He was really good in that quarter last season.

but for the most part I agree with his picks

Accurate.

But I'd like to see Lofton paired with a good ILB, unlike Hawthorne.

I actually found that list to be pretty crappy.

Having guys listed as overrated because they are getting older and losing a step doesnt mean they are overrated. Charles Tillman, Darnell Dockett, Wes Welker, Julius Peppers, etc. All are listed as overrated because they arent what they were 5 years ago... well yea its because they got old.

And having Romo listed as underrated because the Cowboys would suck without him is dumb as well. You can say that about Brees, Brady, Manning in Indy, Luck, etc.

At the same time, having guys listed as underrated that are rookies isnt that accurate either. Guys like Andre Ellington, Sio Moore, Brandon Boykin, etc. Most of those guys werent even full time players. They were situational guys. And still rookies. Give them more time before you call them underrated or overrated.

Romo being called underrated is laughable. He's one of the top 5 most talked about QBs in the NFL

Lofton will occasionally be in good position ion coverage but he just never makes a play on the ball it seems like.

I remember a few years ago up in ATL he had great coverage on Tony Gonzales but didn't have his head turned around. He also didn't have any safety help on the play either. Gonzales made the catch for the TD and people were all like... dammit Lofton!!!

Lofton was draped all over him but Gonzales just made a great play.

yeah, pretty much of all of this. Hicks also was pretty tough at times against the run too. If he can keep improving there.. holy shite... it will be awesome.

yeah, plus Green Bay's season almost got flushed down the toilet when they lost Rodgers for a few weeks.

Romo will lead a 4th quarter comeback against a team the Cowboys are supposed to beat. Then he will go and throw it all away in a crucial division game late in the season or something.

or he'll have a good game against a good team like he did against Denver last year. And then at absolutely the worst time for an interception... Wham!!!!!!!!!

picked off.

ball game over.

I agree with some of that list but I see what you are saying.

he overrates Peppers when the guy hasn't even played a down with Green Bay.

he overrates Dockett who helped the Cardinals to have one of the toughest run defenses in the NFL last year.

Lunacy.

Prisco was just on NFL radio talking about this article. He said the Saints was the hardest team to select an underrated player because they have so many.

He might be right.

Marques Colston never making it to the Pro Bowl screams underrated.

Pierre Thomas being the best screen-executer in the entire NFL and gets no love nationally from that makes him an underrated candidate as well.

His 2007 season is the only one I'd say he was snubbed in.
