Yeah because we're hurting so much at RB...

Chris Ivory was basically packaged with a 4th round draft pick and became John Jenkins.
considering Ivory was in the last year of his contract and due to RB depth the Saints had no intention of resigning him. The Franchise thought that a 4th round pick was good compensation for an expendable player.
Considering that pick and another 4th amounted to finding a player at DT that starts for us...I would say this is one of our better trades. Regardless of how well he has performed since his rookie campaign.

We got a 4th rounder for him. 4th rounder for a glass cannon is great value.

wow, I didn't realize I got sent back in time... this has to be like 2012 or something, right?

Because he makes Sam Bradford look like an iron man.
Will check back in 2 weeks when he's set to miss a month with a hamstring injury.

If you want to complain about Sproles that would be a bit more logical. He was traded for what became Ronald Powell...an often injured college player that turned into an often injured pro player that never played a regular season snap for us.
Even then you would be unnecessarily crying over spilled milk from a season ago.

Khiry Robinson is pretty much the same player as Ivory.

What would another RB do for us?

Sproles was money related
Ivory showed enough to where he had value. So it was a no brained to deal him with the depth we had

There are so many pressing issues with the team, and rb really isn't one of them..start a better thread op

Ivory was a restricted Free Agent. We didn't have the money to keep him. So we got something for him rather than letting him walk. We had just signed Brees and had Jimmy Graham, Mark Ingram and Cam Jordan to re-sign the next few years.

we never shoulda let that Jake Delhomme kid get away

The 'blame Ingram' crowd is the laziest, most ignorant type of Saints fan. You know, our team sucks in every possible dimension, so naturally let's scapegoat the Bama guy who was actually good last year.
