I have been a Saints fan from the very first exhibition game where i was selling peanuts at Tulane stadium and witnessed Gilliam running back the opening kickoff 96 yds for a touchdown against the Rams.
You guys now have no idea the pain of people laughing at you as a Saint fan when the bags were out and we were the "Aints".
Ok a few drafts went south and a few key players are hurt, this is not our darkest hour. The coaches won't be fired and Brees will retire on his own terms. Take a deep breath, close your eyes and remember the feeling when Tracy Porter was heading for the endzone. You need to bring that back to the players because that is the only thing that separates teams, the fans! I will cheer these guys no matter what the record because without the cheers and support they are doomed, no matter how talented. Have faith, be a Saint !!

I agree with some of what you are saying. Few questions...
How old are you?
Are you a season ticket holder?
Are you going to be at the game tomorrow night?

It is true what the OP said. This 100% of the time makes me feel better.

Thank you. I don't go back as far as the OP but have watched and followed since manning was QB in the 70s. This play was the greatest moment for me as a saints fa

That may be my favorite play ever, any sport. I was so scared Peyton would tie up the game and we would end up losing then. And just like that I see Porter beat the WR on his own route and fly down the field with nothing but grass in front of him. At that point joy set in and I knew we were Super Bowl champs.
FWIW, I'm 22. Not all the young guys are entitled like y'all seem to think. I'd be happy just beating the Falcons and Panthers and making them feel human again

Exactly how I feel I'm 28 and a life long NBA fan until I was about 7 or 8 then I found football then the saints back in those days the saints were rarely on my tv. Sammy knight was my fav saints player for the longest though..

Agreed!
I was actually at the game in the midst of Saints fans -- I've never seen so many grown men crying.

I agree with your post. The sky is not falling. The team needs to get out of cap hell and get a couple more decent drafts together. Brees will be Brady like in two years with a couple more weapons and some Oline help. LBs seem to look like a bright future and secondary is also going to be OK. We need some help on the D line.

Agree. I think next year Brees will have a better year. He is not healthy. His arm will rebound a lil. Put a better team around Drew & he can still will. The answer is out there. We just have to make some right decisions because we are a couple bad ones from shooting missiles at ex-girlfriend's like Gators in this piece.

From one old timer to the other I feel your pain. I was 7y.o. that first season. My first game was the teams first franchise regular season win against the eagles. It took 8 games to get a win but it was sweet. My friend and I hopped on a chartered bus for the first game of the 73 season only to watch the dirty birds whip our arse to the tune of 62-7.Some of you can only imagine the pain of horrible drafting and inept front office decisions year after year.
I promise we are living in fortunate times right now compared to that f'd up abortion that used to be this franchise yet I will always love this team. Geaux Saints.
