Surprise pick in top 12?

Every year it seems at least 1-2 teams picks a player that nobody expected to go in the top 10. With us at 13, who would be a few candidates to go from the 20's to the top 12, and what teams could be the ones making this move?
I see the following:
Landon Collins
Marcus Peters
Maxx Williams
Breshard Perriman
These seem like the most likely candidates to me due to position they play and teams that will reach for position rather than best players on the board. The teams I could see making this type of move, and I arrive at this because history says they do so, are:
Oak
Minn
Cle
maybe even St Louis.
Who knows, maybe we will see the top 12 play out a bit more straight forward, but this usually isn't the case. Any reaches ahead of us will help some players fall. I can see Oak pulling the Perriman trigger based off his speed alone, but the new Davis probably isn't as nutty as the old one.
What say you?

There's no way Landon Collins goes top 12. I think his best hope might be Houston at 16, but that's if Cooper, White and Parker are gone imo.
Edit: Actually if there was anyone who would surprise, it'd either be OL/DL in my opinion. Go back and look at recent drafts and the line is where the majority of a lot of picks have been made early. I think guys like La'el Collins, Ereck Flowers, Cameron Erving and Andrus Peat could all be shockers.

I wouldn't consider this a shock unless he is picked ahead of one of the top 3 guys. WRs are gonna go fast this year

you are throwing reason into the mix. however, often times teams pick a player that everyone said there was no way that player would be picked that high. the purpose of this thread is to discuss if that were to happen this year (and that's very likely), who could it be and what teams would do so?
I will throw in Bryce Petty as well. Cleveland could always get set on drafting a QB and force the issue at 12. With a pick at 19, I don't find this very likely. St Louis could do this as well.
this is very true. I was looking at these positions as well. Collins wouldn't be a shock due to his being all over the board. The others all would be more surprise picks, and they could very well be the ones that go.

I have a funny feeling Arik Armstead will go earlier than expected

Maybe Gurley, he has the potential to be a great one so teams may try to jump ahead of one another to snag him.

I forgot about him. This is probably the number one guy now that you mention him. Without the injury this wouldn't even be a question.

no way for Williams, Collins small chance.
Perriman might be my Saints surprise pick at 13
I'd add Flowers OT, Devante Parker WR, and Gurley or Gordon RB

I completely agree and as the saying goes, "It only takes one team to fall in love with you". We, as fans have the luxury of saying, "Oh, I wouldn't take X player until the mid teens or late 1st". Teams however do not have that and if they skip on a player, their only hope is to trade back into whatever spot or hope he falls. So, obviously if they like someone, they have to take him, simple as that. I'm hoping there are players like that in that top 12 to let someone fall to our pick.
I just think that Perriman probably has the best chance of those at 10 or 12 to either the Rams or Browns. Maxx Williams could be a late 1st and I wouldn't be shocked if New England rolled with him.

Glad you started this thread. I read these earlier, and it would be awesome for us if he went top 12.
FWIW, McShay has him at #6 to the Jets in the mock that he released today.

@CharlesRobinson The draft range for Todd Gurley? Supposedly 6 to 10 now. That's the word on the street.

?@CharlesRobinson 2h2 hours ago There's a reason why Todd Gurley is high on @McShay13 mock draft. And it's because that's where #NFL guys are moving Gurley now. Up. Up. Up.

If Winston and Mariota go off the board in the first 2 picks, it's not impossible to see Petty go within the Top 12. It's pretty far stretch but not impossible.
Here lately, Peat has been creeping up in a lot of mocks I been looking at. Malcolm Brown is another guy who some team might fall in love with.

Yeah, I think if Beasley, Fowler and perhaps Scherff are gone, Gurley to Atlanta could be a surprise pick.

Gurley, 3 WR, 2 QBs. That's 6 picks ahead of us without one defensive player taken.

Parker in the teens or twenties no surprise. Breaking into the Top 12 after White and Cooper would be tough. Me love at #31
Posted on 4/22/15 at 11:37 am to blueslover
easy reputable website, 4 mocks, all have DVP in top 12 and its been like that for quite some time. If he's available for us at 13, with a few D notables gone.... lookout...

yeah I haven't seen him getting to us much less past us in most of the latest mocks. I would love for him to be our pick. The closer we get to the draft, the less confident I am in the defensive players available at 13. I think one of the 3 WRs will offer the most reliability for the value of the pick and we could grab defense with the next four picks

Gurley to Atlanta.
