Did you or any other service members you know protest while they were serving?
Didn't think so.
Your superiors would have made you pay one helluva price.
NFL Owners won't do that to their millionaire investments. Therein, is your problem.
If these clown want to protest there are better ways to do it than to put down their own country.

don't be mad because their job allows them to protest for 2 minutes and still go out and do their job after

I understand that point and respect it. For me, it's just highly annoying for people to automatically start hating these players all because they are symbolically saying, "I don't agree with some of the things in our country right now. I would like to see some positive changes made so this country can be as great as it claims to be".

It's like Trump's whole campaign was obviously built on making America great. Now when the opposite side is basically saying they want the same thing(albeit different ideals and different objectives). They are automatically labeled as terrorists who hate their country. Ive seen people say anyone who criticizes the flag/country should be fired, beat up, or even shot. Sorry that sounds a lot like a communist or even dictatorship nation. Those values are not what this country was built upon.

You realize a lot of NFL players came from neighborhoods just like that, right?

exactly. none of these players hate our country or our troops. They are using their platform to send a message about the state of the country. You don't have to agree with the substance of the message but I respect their right to protest in a way that does no one any actual harm.

That is all.

To sit or kneel during this country's national anthem and patronage to the American Flag is not a protest...it is disrespectful to the service members and our forefathers who died in battle to protect the freedom for you and I. You want to protest? Great, do it! Not during the National Anthem....wear we hate Trump T-Shirts...I don't give a rip....Don't do it on national TV during the Anthem...You are not hurting Trump or calling attention to your cause, you are received poorly cause you come off as disrespectful to the nation....In the days after 9/11, when they hung the American Flag on the pile of rubble, would you agree to someone sitting down then? I think not...

There have been veterans who have come out and said they don't find it disrespectful and have even supported them. Of course they don't represent the views of all veterans but they made sacrifices so people could have the freedom to do things like protest. Also I'm pretty sure the athletes are not doing this to attack service members. A number of them (like Cam Jordan and Ingram) have expressed support for troops in the past. Plus the flag and anthem don't solely represent the US military but rather the entire country.

I can guarantee one thing. If Pat Tillman was still alive, he'd be supporting the players who kneel.

This is the statement from his widow:
quote:

"The very action of self expression and the freedom to speak from one's heart — no matter those views — is what Pat and so many other Americans have given their lives for. Even if they didn't always agree with those views. It is my sincere hope that our leaders both understand and learn from the lessons of Pat's life and death, and also those of so many other brave Americans."

Agree. Easy to say I am not going to watch the Saints Monday through Saturday, but harder when it comes to game day. I am disappointed at all the protesters. Millionaires feeling oppressed. I just hope it was a one week deal.

I donated my season tickets to my dogs.

My seats will be empty. Bunch of spoiled millionaires shitting on the American flag. I will watch the Saints on TV for now but my fandom decreased rapidly.
