State your claim: Where do Saints finish on defense + when does Ryan get fired?

Lot of skeptics. We can come back to this thread at the end of the season to give props to or mock those that say Ryan is going to be fired soon.

I fee like turnovers involve a certain amount of "chance" and we have been on the arse end of the law of averages in regards to that for a few years now. I think the tide turns this season. Defense will give up yards, but turnovers will help keep the points down.
Ryan keeps his job this season.

A healthy Byrd for 12+ games would help out a ton, but I don't think that we have the pass rush to be above average in turnovers. If we are in the top half of the league in turnovers forced, I'd say that there's a 95% chance that we make the playoffs.

Ryan will be the one fired in the off season if we don't make the playoffs. Doubt he will be fired mid season. Would take us giving up 28-42 points a game.

Offensively, we finish #1 in time of possession, so it shouldnt be worse than this.

I mean, there is that security blanket available.
I'm hoping they finish around 20th. If we can be a teens defense, I think we've got a shot at having a very successful season. I don't want internal issues in the staff after weve worked so hard at getting the attitude in the locker room right.

With all the new faces i have not a clue. He goes from 5th Def to 31st.
Only thing I would predict is that it will improve from last year
The one thing that will get him fired mid season is giving up the late score for the loss after CSP's offense gets us the seemingly game winning drive.

Ryan looks so nervous on the sidelines now. Like he knows he's in trouble. A mid season fire wouldn't surprise me.

We arent gonna fire a defensive coordinator mid season. That would only make things worse. Ryan might be gone after the season is over though. I can see that atleast.

Yep, he could be gone by week 5 or 6 if the def is that bad. Dennis Allen will be the next DC easily.

Bottom 10 in both stats. Ryan keeps job because injuries and other situations caused him to lose his best players for long periods of time

I'm not a Saints fan but at what point have you fired so many defensive coordinators that you have to take a look at the head coach and GM and think maybe the problem on that side of the ball is them and not this parade of assistants they've torn through?
