People love to complain! 3 weeks ago there were 100 threads per minute calling for paper bags and Sean Payton's head. 2 wins later and all I hear are crickets. Either people just love to complain or many posters can't make words with their mouths full of crow! HA! Geaux Saints!

Enjoy the win while you can because reality bites.

Exactly!

Im enjoying these wins as I still realize we are DECIMATED on defense. My optimism is still alive and well as getting Rankins and Breaux back in the near future could be the pieces we need to make a run....but im not getting my hopes up.

The only game we got outright beat was Atl. We could easily be 4-1 instead even with the injuries.

So I have more than optimism.

Honestly I feel nothing with this team. The reason is, I feel no sense of trust for the current regime to scout and bring in players that will make this team better. Anthony on the bench along with several others. The 15% hit on draft picks. The 5% hit on free agents. As long as this regime is here expect 6-10 - 8-8 with all your wins in the 45-44 range.

If Drew Bree's wasn't on this team meet the 0-16 lions. Bree's has to have a hall of fame highlight game for this team to even have a chance. Feel like I'm watching Texas Tech out there

Who are the others besides Anthony that are "on the bench"?

He's one what? Have you been disappointed with our LB play?

K

So the Saints don't have 1 player that can play D? Cam Jordan hasn't been absolutely killing it the last few weeks? Davison and Fairely haven't been good at DT?

Robinson hasn't been great? Vaccaro hasn't been playing well?

Fairely, Robinson, Breaux, Fleener, and Snead are all looking like pretty good FA pickups in the last 2 seasons We've clearly made major adjustments in the scouting departments.

We've actually brought in some pretty damn good talent the last 2 years via draft and FA. You can only take so many hits with the injury bug.

There's also a lot more to talk about after a loss than after a win.

We could discuss several things:

1. Payton continues to not commit to a run game

2. Brees looks great but always throws a bonehead interception at the absolute worst time

3. Our corners are godawful (not really their fault being scrubs and UDFAs) and the pass interference penalties in the endzone

4. We were smoking a bad Panthers team, and let them come back and tie the game.

Or, we can just breathe a sigh of relief we won, enjoy it, laugh at Cam, and get ready for the Chiefs.

But we aren't 4-1, we are 2-3

I'm happy with these wins, but the team is still in a hole. The early season losses will be so tough to overcome considering they can realistically only lose 3 more if they want to make the playoffs.

This would be why I'm not very excited....doing the math is depressing.

The math (and the only one that really matters) says we're 1 game out of the playoffs, and 1.5 games out of it in the division (1 game out of the loss column)

We're very fortunate to still be in it

I will be the first to admit, I was wrong about this team and take the heat for bashing them in the pre-season, but I was never about firing the coaches.

This team has stepped up to play the last few weeks and even in the losses have made it competitive. I cant wait to see how the rest of the season plays out!

While a legit complaint in the Giants and maybe even the Chargers game, this isn't a legit complaint for Sunday imo.

He just had one of the longest stretches in NFL history without an interception. That interception targeting Cooks wasn't boneheaded either, and should have been a TD. He has a 1.78 interception % (for reference - 2.14% in 2009, 2.13% in 2011) with one of the younger receiving groups in the NFL (which can be directly attributed to 2-3 of his 4).
