Geno Smith threw well at West Virginia’s Pro Day, and talk is increasing that he’s going to be not just the first quarterback taken but one of the first players off the board at any position. And we can add the Jets and the Raiders to the list of the teams believed to be interested.

The Newark Star-Ledger says the Jets have interest in Smith, while the Contra Costa Times suggests the Raiders are interested in drafting Smith.

Previous reports have suggested that the Jaguars are interested, and the Eagles sent a contingent to West Virginia to get a private workout with Smith.

The Jaguars have the second overall pick, the Raiders have the third, the Eagles have the fourth and the Jets have the ninth. From all indications, Smith won’t be getting out of the Top 10.

And if there’s some other team out there that really loves Smith, that team may need to start thinking about placing a call to the Chiefs.

Let me know what you guys think and how things will play out for our Saints.

I totally agree and this happens every year. People start drooling over QBs and they keep getting mocked higher and higher until draft day. I have a great feeling a high impact pass rusher will be there at 15.

Would you guys mind ezekial ansah. I think Dion Jordan Will be gone. Mingo could be gone, I personally think someone will fall in love with him and he will go before us. Not sure about what will happen with Jarvis Jones. Also wat did Sean Payton list as our needs

I know he he has huge upside but Id pretty disappointed with Ansah. If we're going to be an end in our old 43, sure. But asking to be an OLB when he's so incredibly raw is sort of a waste for a couple years until he gets it. I don't want that much of a project while we're still in Brees prime.
I want either Mingo or Jones, those two being the ones I think have the chance to be there at 15.

I want Jones and Mingo.

Pretty sure Jordan will go really early.

I'm not a huge fan of Ansah. Wasn't a starter until two people got injured and only has played a few games and what I saw of him wasn't all that impressive. Not as impressive as the hype he gets anyway. That's just my opinion though.

You know guys, I said a month ago Geno was going overall #1. Still holding on for a LT at 15 or Tavon Austin

I honestly Hope Matt Barkley goes of Off at his Pro-day, which would mean that he should rise back into top 10 cough cough, Bills. If Mingo and Jones are on the board would you guys stil be in favor of trading back

I get this feeling that if we get Butler. It will come down to a LT if there is a good one there, Joeckyl and Fisher will go top 10 Lane won't make it pass Miami and San Diego. So we would have to trade up. I get this gut feeling that Tavon will be seriously considered

Sorry but no one in the Saints FO is conserving WR with our first pick.

My first choice would be Jones, but any of the four would make me pretty happy. If none of them are there I hope we trade back.

I think that is the grand concensus around here. Also that a 2nd QB leaps into the top 15 somehow.

I'm looking forward to laughing at whoever takes Geno Smith in the top 10.

I will laugh at anyone that drafts any of those QB in the top half of the first round. We all know some teams will because the worst teams are as bad ad they are because they don't have a QB.

I feel for teams who are that desperate for a QB that they draft Geno Smith top 15

One QB before #15 is hohum as affecting the Saints. Two could push a solid Top 10 player down. If I see three QBs go that will be cause to get excited.

for one I think 100% chance
two 50%
three 33%

a lot of draft action just comes down to how it plays out on that day. Last year more first round picks were traded than teams standing pat in their spot. Three spots were traded twice
