The Saints have 5 winning seasons and 3 division titles.
They also have what looks to be 5 losing seasons plus one 0.500 season.
Since after the 2011, the Saints very well may end up with 4 losing seasons out of the last 5 seasons. Any coach surviving that is unbelievable.

Payton needs to go. He sucks. He has lost his edge. The Saints are pathetic. A disgrace to Louisiana once again.

Brees salary and poor contracts are the cause of most of these issues, but i agree that CSP needs to clean house or he needs to go, bring on Harbaugh

Most importantly the contracts with his assistant and position coaches

It's not Brees salary. It has been bad signings, horrid drafting, minimal player development on the defensive side, and horrid coaching hires/retentions.
Brees salary didn't help, but it's detriment to team success has been very overstated as a big reason.

It's weird that you didn't mention that we won a superbowl. That is the main reason that Payton is still here. Also, if we fired Payton today he would have another HC job somewhere else by the weekend. We on the other hand would be stuck with someone like Mike Smith for the next few years until we replacement with an equally shitty option. With that said I think he should stay for a least the next season. Our team this year is young and inexperienced. As the start to mesh we can start to be more dominate again.

Marvin Lewis and Jeff Fisher are both still employed, at least at the moment.

5 winning seasons, 3 division titles and a super bowl victory (you conventionally omitted). Given the history of this franchise, I'll take that all day.

Why people don't see this is beyond me. CSP and Brees did more with this team in 10 years than anyone else in the 40 years before.
CSP is still a top 10 coach, easily. You aren't gonna get better given who's available or will be available soon.

Not even in the top 5 of our issues.

Yep

the cause of most of these issues,
How can you forget the lack of drafting.
How did the Broncos win a Super Bowl with a broken Manning while he played under a similar cap hit year after year as Brees?
Somehow the Broncos, Baltimore, Chicago, Pitt, Green Bay, Dallas, and the NYG have all put together above average or even great defenses while paying out top money for QB play.
Our offensive line issues have nothing to do with Drew's contract. We've just completely ignored it in the draft for years (Center and Guard). The dead money isn't on Drew's contract. The audacity to ignore Guard again this offseason was fricking mindblowing. It worked for a bit when Unger was playing like the best C in the NFL, but we saw what happened to the rest of the line when he exited. Evans, while he's exceeded expectations this year, just can't cut it. I pray we get a pass rusher in the top 10 this offseason and actually address our needs at G, and LB.
Our starting RG got cut from arguably the worst oline in the NFL.

I agree but he desperately needs to fire his friends and give up playcalling.
Today, in the NFL, passing the ball 70% of the time and going empty set Shotgun on 3rd and short and goal line in the first half repeatedly to the point that it's an expected joke is starting to get unforgivable.
What makes that unforgivable is not only the statistical fact that when Payton commits to the run game we dominate opposing teams, and you have to use the run to setup the pass, no, what makes it un-fricking-forgiveable is that Payton has said the past two seasons in multiple separate press conferences that he knows this is a problem and knows he has to run it and refuses to do so anyway. Wake up Coach.
That's said, he's a great coach and he's responsible for the absolute best stretch of football in Saints history, but he needs to adjust.
Even the greatest coaches in the league's history adjusted. Fire coaches, address needs, shift playcalling.
You have to change and adapt.

I have a little faith he'll fire the ST coach since he was looking to bring in help during the year.
If that at least doesn't happen, I'll have lost all faith.
We'd possibly be winning the division right now if it wasn't for that pathetic excuse.

Payton is part of the problem, but it's not specifically him, but the fact he's done a poor job hiring assistants and has an idiot for a GM.
Loomising has been a major issue. The Saints have fit free agents into cap space problems, but nearly every one has been a bust.
Byrd, Gallette, Browner, Spiller, Fleener (so far), Jason David, Kreutz, Hawthorne, Lofton, etc.
Those are all just the FA busts.
Look at the draft busts and note that many were just not fits for the system here by year:
2006: Great class
2007: Bushrod (good), Meacham (bad value), rest busts
2008: Porter, Nicks (rest busts)
2009: Moorestead, Jenkis (bad value/fit long-term but short-term good)
2010: Graham (great), rest all busts
2011: Jordan (great), Ingram (bad value, but okay), rest busts
2012: not a single player still on team
2013: Armstead (great), Stills (great value), Vaccarro (bad value), rest busts
2014: Cooks only one worth a damn, rest busts
2015: Peat (bad value), Anthony (mediocre value), Kikaha (injury bust to date), several other decent pickups
2016: TBD
So overall, most Saints drafts got 1, maybe 2 players worth a damn, with 2006 and 2013 (so far) looking great
2 really good drafts in 11 years, a couple of mediocre ones and 7 bad to atrocious drafts in that time.
Add in bad assistant coaches and you get the wasted prime of Brees the past 5 years.

I think he knows it, but panics when it doesn't have great success early on. Payton is simply not patient to allow that to develop each game. When it is on early, this team is tough to beat, but a few bad plays or some unsuccessful stretches and he abandons the running game almost entirely.
Also, if the passing game starts working, he just throws out any thought of running and sticks with it to the team's detriment.
