He'll end up missing 3-4 games, Byrd will probably miss 4-5. Wonder if Browner and Spencer can make the entire season?

Considering how well khiry/Ingram has performed I rather spiller be completely healthy.

Arizona's defense is gonna be tough, but I think it's gonna be a low scoring game from the get go

When does the report about Browner missing time come out? Let's not pretend that's not coming soon

Jesus we have so many doom and gloom fans. I'll permanent ban bet anyone that Byrd takes at least one snap this season.

Certainly, he may take a snap. My post was not really meant literally. But I don't don't expect him to be a significant contributor (and I wouldn't be shocked if he did, in fact, miss the entire year).

As crazy as it sounds, I'm beginning to believe there is nothing wrong with Byrd & the staff is just not risking him getting hurt in training camp. One reason being, Byrd was a full go at OTA's.

quote:

This didn't appear to be a problem heading into the early portion of the offseason program. Byrd participated in every OTA and nearly every minicamp practice until the very last one.

quote:

Byrd is only visible during afternoon walkthroughs. If he comes to morning practices, he's either not wearing a jersey or he's invisible. He's not working out with the training staff on the field during practices, unlike other injured players or those on the PUP list.

Then once training camp comes around there is no report of any injury. (No Byrd has a back, ankle, knee, etc from Payton) Secondly, he is mysteriously being kept away from all the media. Early on in camp he was at least doing work on the side now he is nowhere to be found.

It was never to this extent but the Saints did take it easy with Vilma at times during training camp & especially at points during the season. They had to. It was the only they were going to stretch Vilma out for several seasons. From the combine, everyone in the NFL knew Vilma had a condition that could cause his right knee to degenerate.

quote:

He had two operations on his left knee in 2001, after he tore the meniscus in a Jet-Ski accident. A sore hamstring limited him early in his senior season.

And at the combine, doctors found a condition in his right knee that Vilma said was first noticed in high school. The condition, osteochondritis dissecans lesion, is marked by damage to the cartilage in the knee and could result in pain and swelling. In some cases, there is looseness, and in the worst-case scenario, it can be degenerative.

Vilma said he had never had a problem with the knee and had never had to ice it.

LINK

Once he was traded to the Saints, it didn't take long before he did start have swelling & needing rest during the practice week. I would say it was a damn good job by the training, medical & coaching staff to get every bit out of Vilma during his time with the Saints as they did. I just kinda get the feeling they maybe taking this approach to the extreme with Byrd.

I'm pretty suspicious, but no one would have known about Spiller's surgery for a while if some creep in Florida didn't snap a picture of him.

2. Payton is a jackass who makes up shite about injuries to get reporters off his back. Why can't he just give them status updates? Why the damn secrecy? Makes you really wonder if we'll ever see Byrd.

Frankly, it's none of our business.

It is not doom and gloom, it is just the facts!!! I will go out on a limb here and say that Byrd and Spiller will never play a down for us and if they do, it won't be for long. Two words, injury prone.

I think you need to review the definition of "facts".
